Advantages.
- More power
- You'll have more fun in driving
Disadvantages.
- Fuel consumption
- Cost
- Engine condition
...
BTW, why not get a SiR instead ? I mean ... trade your current one for a fresh SiR. Atleast the b16a would be STOCK.

June 10th, 2010 06:52 PM #4Advantages:
b16 (SiR) = DOHC VTEC + more, more power
d16 (VTi) = SOHC VTEC-E + more power + more fuel efficient
Disadvantages:
b16 (SiR) = DOHC > less low-mid rpm torque = more fuel consumption on city drive
Cost of swap
What will you do with the stock engine now?
Changing engine for racing/more power?
Get the SiR engine. No significant differencewas felt from ph15a when you get the VTi engine. However, I'll only change my stock ph15a if it was seriously damaged.

If there's no problem with the old engine, just sell the car and buy a decent condition SiR. You'll still spend roughly the same amount of money, but there will be less hassle... no paperwork for the change of engine... no need to scout for parts or wait for the swap to be completed... no wiring issues or the other niggles of an engine swap.
