1.3M with the 1.5NA engine. Whew - most likely same fate with the Mazda 3 1.5NA... Coolray is laughing at this. Or even the Changan CS35.

Honda sold 417 HR-V's last year, even if the new model was already available in some markets

    452 in 2020

I don't think Honda PH is pushing the HR-V to outsell the CR-V and (once locally made) BR-V

Honestly, I'm personally disappointed not to see the hybrid version offered locally...

Honda Sensing is a big plus as most people I know who drive the HR-V locally are new lady drivers
(unlike in SG where it was once the #1 Grab/Uber car for Singaporean Chinese drivers)

    Have a look at the PH-spec, all-new Honda HR-V | Visor

Equipped with Honda Sensing across the model range
But Honda has confirmed that its stock will be sourced from Thailand.

2022 Honda HR-V: Why no base turbo or RS variant? | Autoindustriya

According to Honda Cars PH General Manager Atty. Louie Soriano and Honda Cars PH President Masahiko Nakamura, they recognize the advantages of many rival models when it comes to price, features, and even engines. But they are banking on the strength of the Honda brand, their servicing, and the many more attributes that make Honda such a popular brand in the Philippine market to keep the HR-V in its rightful place in the segment.
Atty. Louie Soriano confirmed that the HR-V RS 1.5 turbo is coming. As to when exactly, of course, the Honda PH GM did not specify. As for its pricing, he wouldn't say anything either. But of course, it's expected to be considerably more expensive than the V variant. As to how much, we reckon it would probably be in the PHP 1.7-million range.

As expected, meh. We got the Indo base model specs even sa V variant but with the turbo engine.

unless the S is basically a sluggard,
"where in the trafficky metro do i need all that power for?"

    but yes,
    car power is subjective.

is there literature that can translate S power versus V turbo power, into real-world lyrics?

No plans of buying an HR-V...

pero my wife hates the look of the CR-V.

n/a version is a tiny bit lighter than ecosport DCT. so yeah it's underpowered just like the ford is but for getting to/from work it's totally just fine

but of course the price is a totally different matter maybe they should've offered a base version w/o SENSING in order to sell more units in order to reach critical mass which in turn assures parts supply in the long run

that engine has been around for so long (new City uses a DOHC version), I feel na ayaw na ng Ayala mag train ng mechanics nila for a new engine.

The new BR-V is also expected to use the same engine.

IMO, 1.5NA engine is more than enough... my issue is with its CVT.

I'm driving a base Civic FC, 1.8 NA CVT feels sluggish. So I imagine it's worse kapag 1.5 CVT.

Also my personal experience sa prev gen HR-V (couz has it), the R18 engine is barely enough just like the Civic FC 1.8.

My issue is nag downgrade sila from 1.8 to 1.5. Honda killed the R18 globally kase eh.

I remember playing with a City 1.5 Manual comparing it with my City CVT.

The engine was more than enough and it was fun driving the Manual version.

My problem with the CVT is that I feel that it needs time to respond.

The car can climb Baguio (etc)
    it can reach 120kms/h

my issue is the 0-100 and 80-120, the response is just not there.

Exactly, imagine the same drivetrain on the much heavier HR-V (heavier than the Civic din).
