Yes, the CRV's brakes bite early bro. Similar to an FD Civic. My fiance also got surprised when she first drove the CRV as she was used to the more progressive pedal of the Civic FC.

Just take a bit of getting used to. It really differs per car talaga.

Could it be due to "braking habit" where you lift your foot and step on the brake pedal as compared to just resting it on the floor and pivot on your heel?

No. Mas maaga talaga kumagat brakes ng CRV.

I've driven dozens of different cars and some cars really have brakes that bite early in the pedal travel compared to others.

This is different from braking strength ha. It's just really about pedal feel.

That's a good term for it bro, progressiveness. I wish it would use more of the pedal travel available.

I'm also missing the one touch folding mechanism for the 2nd row in the previous gen.

Still just minor gripes. I'm really enjoying this car. ☺

Same pivoting foot position din naman bro for all our cars. Brake pedal sensitivity and progressiveness are probably the best terms to describe it.

Most Accords are like that. The brakes bite early. I am not sure about the 9th gen.

Yung City at Jazz medyo late ang brake response.

10k PMS for my Civic was 3k. Hindi pa ko nakaka-6 months sa CRV but it should be roughly the same.

That's with mineral oil. Synthetic is around 1.5-2k more expensive I think.

City is 5-8 km/L depending on the traffic. Highway is 12-15 depending on how fast you go.

Engine is still the same R20 2.0L i-VTEC gas engine since the 2008 CRV.

That's about right since all Honda does for the 10K PMS is to change the motor oil and clean the brakes. I was charged P4.4k for my Civic's 10k PMS. Major cost items consisted of the fully synthetic oil, oil filter and the spray-on brake cleaner. The remainder of the bill were for shop materials and labor.

Mine is within that range. They advised me to use semi-synthetic since I only use my CRV in the city. I only have 4,417 kms after 6 months of use.

    autodeal com ph/articles/car-features/basics-philippine-lemon-law

Check if you're covered by the Lemon Law which I think is pro-manufacturer.

I think it's covered naman. Question is how long will the process take if ever we go through this route. Can't afford kasi to lose the car ng matagal while the procedure is on-going wala kami spare ride kaya we're not that enthusiastic with this option.

What can you say about the distance of the crvs 3rd row seats against the car's rear end? Hindi ba masyado malapit? How do we compare this distance vs a bigger suv like Monty or Fort? Mukha ba safer sa malalaking suvs when we consider rear collisions?

A few inches lang din from the rear hatch, same with the PPVs.

Pareho lang sila ng safety. If anything, the CRV is sold in countries with far more stringent safety protocols (US, EU) so you can be confident that the car was designed without compromising safety.

Yep... same lang din with most PPV's na 3 rows yung space.

Agree on the safety testing sa other countries like US... CRV actually achieved IIHS Top Safety Pick in their safety crash tests... here's the link - 217 Honda CR-V

Masikip ang 3rd row ng CRV ha. Worse than Xpander/BRV/Rush pati MUX/Everest/Fortuner.

Pareho sila ng Montero na masikip. Sa CRV kailangan nakasuksok yung paa mo under the second row seats para maging liveable yung upo. Sa Montero flat yung ilalim ng second row seats so di mo masusuksok paa mo so nakabend yung knees mo na medyo alanganin.

But for occasional use and not so long trips (like hanggang Subic or Batangas lang), livable naman for non-fat adults yung 3rd row. Kids will be just fine too.
