every other week na refuelling sounds absolutely amazing. 25-30liters x 52weeks. is this correct?

Brought the CR-V out of town for the first time today, although traffic going to Tagaytay was pretty heavy so it wasn't highway driving at all.
The R20 is rev-happy engine with an equally responsive CVT. Being gas-fed with not much torque, the weight of the car + 4 on board + uphill gradient meant that it was a bit of a struggle to overtake at low revs. That's where the paddle shifters and transmission help a lot - just flick the paddle or floor the throttle and the revs quickly rise to 5000 rpm which is the sweet spot for power.
As expected, the ride was comfortable, far more comfortable than any PPV. Weaving through traffic isn't nauseating because the center of gravity isn't too high and the car doesn't have as much body roll. My only gripe is that the engine tends to get loud past 4000 rpm and unfortunately the engine note isn't very good. So it doesn't sound as nice when being revved as my other 2-liter (a Mazda 3).
Registered 9.4 km/L with an average speed of 30 kph with a lot of redline driving and 4 on board. Still no match for the diesel variants, but the gas does have much more top-end pull.

mga sir tanong po,
ano pong magandang tint, yung kapag nasa labas hindi kita sa loob pero hindi macompromise yung vision pag nagdadrive lalo pag gabi, tsaka yung makakablock din po ng init.hehe
Pasensya po newbie owner.hehe.first time magkaroon ng brand new na sasakyan
If you want not to compromise vision specially sa gabi. Try k28 of vkool wraparound. Medyo reflective ng konti sa labas pero malinaw kapag sa loob ang titingin. May konting silhouette But if you have a budget suggest the xseries of vkool.
There is a thread here about tint. Try to find this thread and read at makakakuha ka ng ideas. [emoji6]

if memory serves me correct, the MMDA were talking about cooking up some tint-related regulations. You may want to look into that as well.
Also on-topic: our crv came with 3m black chrome tint. i noticed it has a tendency to affect accuracy of gps devices (smartphone apps) at times due to metal content.
Maraming Salamat mga sir.
limited lang po ba pagpipilian kapag sa casa, nagtext kasi yung sa dealer kung anong tint ipapalagay ko.
Sir could you enlighten me as to how the average speed is computed? Based on your data, if your average speed is 30km/hr and you get 9.4km/ltr., if I would presume that the 30km/hr is 3rd gear, then at 6th gear you should be getting more than 25km/ltr. Or mali ang nasa isip ko?

Sir Jut thanks for sharing. I have not tried the paddle shifters yet though I had experienced using it with 5 passengers (including me). I noticed though there is delay in the push everytime I accelerate. But once it's on the go that simple stab in the throttle gives me an abundance of forward thrust. I agree that it's very comfortable and can easily overcome bumps and potholes.
It's based on the trip computer readout.
FC without average speed is pretty useless. For example, on my Civic, I get anywhere from 5.8 to 20.1 km/L. Pretty wide range right? That's why you need to know the average speed to get an idea of what the traffic conditions were when you got that FC computation, because traffic is the biggest factor that determines your FC.
In my experience, anything below an average speed of 15 kph is already heavy traffic (think EDSA rush hour from Makati to Ortigas). At 16-20 kph, that's moderate traffic, so you have stretches of clear roads mixed with some gridlocks. 20-30 kph is already light traffic (like a Sunday drive from QC to BGC).
Above 30 kph, that most likely means you have a fair bit of expressway driving in your route so it's mixed driving between city and highway. Above 50 kph and that's predomimantly highway driving already.
If you notice, it's lower than what most people report as their "average highway speed" because most people don't take into account lining up at the toll gate, slowing down due to a slow car in front of you, and the overall lower speed when you get off the expressway and onto the provincial highway. So they report that they averaged 100-120 kph but if you check the trip computer which is a far more accurate reading, it'll only be around 60-80 kph.
So going back to the CRV's FC, a 30 kph average is a mix of city driving (I averaged 7.2 km/L before leaving Manila), a small stretch of highway driving from Nichols to Carmona, and then lots of provincial city driving along narrow inner roads and the congested main roads of Tagaytay. There was a lot of overtaking as well because many drivers were too slow. Hence the modest 9.4 km/L reading.
That's because gasoline engines are meant to be driven at high revs to generate power. If you expect them to be like diesels that have good torque at 2000 rpm, you'll be disappointed, and you should've just gotten a diesel instead. Gas engines rev all the way to 6500 rpm yet most people only ever use it up to 3000 rpm.
The CRV loves to rev so if you bury the throttle or flick the paddles, it'll rev up to 5000 rpm which is its sweet spot, and will give you enough torque and power for overtaking even on a full load.

Well anyway sir jut those are just minor issues for me. Those are nothing compared to the plus I got after choosing the gas variant: big savings, bigger space and less maintenance cost.
Yes exactly. If you don't rack up that much mileage, the gas variant comes out cheaper overall, even if the diesel is very, very efficient.
Although if you consider resale value, most likely the gas will sell for 150-200k lower than the diesel in the next 5 years. So the higher upfront cost of the diesel will be offset by the better resale. This is speculative of course (which is why Uly Ang of Carguide didn't include it in his gas vs diesel CRV comparo), but it's an educated guess based on the resale values of gas vs diesel Innovas and Fortuners.

its the computer readout. you simply cant compute average speed. its always varying.
