Baka parang yung Jetta TDI, may problema sa fuel gauge... di daw ata gumagana kahit ang layo na ng natakbo.

Nabasa ko nga yun fro a well respected car reviewer. I think it was said with a bit of exaggeration.

Exactamundo, this applied to me Sirs. Saw some other CRV units on the road as well in Subic area.
My brother has a Jetta and sobrang OK talaga ang gas consumption. Hopefully I can best him with the CRV.

adding my notes for others who may have the same questions...

    1. Fuel economy, mileage – 17 hours of driving, average 13 km/h in bf Paranaque, Alabang, and las pinas areas (those who are from these places know the slow pace, humps, and traffic). Meter reading is showing at 11.9 km/L. Based on actual gas consumption, I have had one full tank since getting the car. I have about less than ¼ tank left after going to Subic for 3D/2N. travelled close to 700 km already. So at least, I am sure to get 14 km/L on my first tank. BTW, I am using econ mode. Switched it off for a few times only. I am just using the shell fuel save diesel.

    2. Power – I drove to subic on the same roads using a Subaru xt forester latest model, that though definitely Feels and drives a lot quicker for overtaking. Nevertheless, still very satisfied at this point with my CRV. Didn’t feel slow driving in the roads going to anvaya area with 2 adults and 4 kids plus some baggage. 110-120 km/h along non-incline/decline sections of sctex, nasa 7th gear lang and 1500-2000 rpm..

    3. Jerking of tranny or brake jerking issues – still haven’t experienced this yet. I have been using Brake-HOLD almost all the time… I HOPE I DONT EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS, OR ALL OF US FOR THAT MATTER.

    4. As for the problem of sir Tristantonio, that looks to be a big problem that hopefully we don’t see in our CRV or other units… Question for him, how are you using the Brake-HOLD? Is it all the time? Smooth ba lagi yung pag transition ninyo into braking or pag launch? Nakasakay kasi ako iba nagdrive, pag hindi smooth pag drive, maririnig mo na parang hindi makapagdecide yung car kung mag full stop siya or continue with gas….

+1 here. Nakakpanibago lang ang response time coz unlike the usual automatic stick and brake lever, medyo hindi instantaneous ang electric shift and parking brake. I didn't think it before but I have been using Brake HOLD all the time now, mas nakakapanibago pag hindi brake hold. First time I am always using 2 hands on the wheel.

Nah. The gear select buttons are actually a refreshing sight in the car's interior. The absence of the shift lever makes the car look more spacious.
