Wala. Malakas sa gas yung XT. But it has 240 hp and gets to 100 and 200 kph faster than any SUV in its price range. You'd have to go to the level of the Explorer Sport Ecoboost to actually outrun the FXT.
If you're concerned about fuel consumption - the FXT isn't for you. The lower end variants are more efficient since they aren't turbocharged, but of course fuel costs are still nowhere as cheap as diesel SUVs.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, jut. Unfortunately, some would look at the Forester as a boxy, ungainly CUV - an ugly duckling of sorts. Once you give it a test-drive and appreciate its function-over-form approach, you will understand why it is Subaru's most important product. In the case of the Forester XT, it is function over form plus outright performance.
Kung ako yung driver, pogi sigurado yung ride. hehehe
Unfortunately, Subaru opted not to bring locally their diesel-powered Foresters. Like most CUVs (CRV, RAV4, CX5, Xtrail, Tucson, Sportage) with 2.0L to 2.5L gas engines, expect FC to be around 7 km/L on usual Metro Manila traffic.
With my FXT, I average 6 km/L on combined Sucat-SLEX-Makati-BGC-Mandaluyong routes with my driving style. You can opt to drive it slower and not even bother going to turbo spool rpms (2500-5000 rpm). The FA20 engine behaves like a usual big 4-banger gas engine on 2k rpm and below, like driving midsize cars.
Previous generations of the CRV only average the same but some owners don't seem to be bothered with such an FC.![]()

Looks-wise I like the Forester over this CR-V. I even like the looks of the previous gen CR-V more.
But personally the X-trail still looks better. Love your own hehe.![]()
hindi ganun kalakas as long as you keep the revs below 2400rpms..around 7-8km/L combined

Still more than NA CUVs. I get 9-10 km/L for a gen 1 and gen 4 CRV for mixed driving.
And considering cost of gas vs diesel which was what I was comparing with in my original post, even at parity in terms of FC, total fuel cost is still 25% lower.

If you were to choose between the 2018 CRV 2.0 S CVT and the 2018 XV 2.0i-S, is it a no-brainer choice to go with the former?

Would choose the Honda CR-V 2.0S ... but for the price you could also consider the Subaru Forester and Mazda CX-5 ...
I already have a reservation for the XV, yes, but there's still time to withdraw it![]()
If I opt for the CRV, I lose:
AWD
X-MODE
Steering Responsive Headlights
Rain Sensing Wipers
Headlamp Washers
Sunroof
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
High Beam Assist
but I gain:
Econ Mode
DRL
Driver Attention Monitor
Very informative instrument cluster
Multi view reverse camera
Lane watch camera
Brake hold
Does the CRV HU support Android Auto and Apple Carplay also?

If you opt for the CRV, you gain SPACE. That's something no spec sheet can describe properly. That's really the biggest benefit of the CRV. If it doesn't appeal to you, might as well stick with the XV.
The CRV HU also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
