3.4 m introductory price for all this honda goodness.

if we did not see much of the previous gen pilot on the road, this one should be even scarcer.

This will be price same as the Explorer, don't think it will be priced at 3M above.

The explorer is also built in the USA but costs less. Its just as feature packed as the explorer though.

What are they thinking? First, the Honda Legend at 4M+ then this? People will buy the Land Cruiser LC200 over the Legend. You can buy a Ford Explorer and Mazda 3 for the price of the 3rd gen Honda Pilot.

i am waiting for a brave soul to come out and contradict all of our initial feedback...

they might as well not sell it here at that price.

honda made money selling the previous gen pilot at 2.5m, sourced from north america.

this new model is also sourced from north america and granted that there are more bells and whistles in this model, it does not justify the 35% increase in price.

what good does increasing your profit margin do if you don't sell much at all?

the pilot and explorer all start at about 31k in the us.

Interesting strategy, Honda pricing itself out of the market.

For about the same price, you can get yourself a Ford Expedition Platinum (3.5L Ecoboost) at 3.5M.

Honda PH might joke around pricing the Civic at 1.4M-1.5M. An Accord 2.4L will be a better proposition for 200k-300k more.

Seriously, why would Honda PH price the new Pilot at more than 3M? The competition are trying to squeeze their prices in between the 2m-3M price range. Have their marketing team gone over their heads with the Pinoy outlook as Honda being a "premium" brand? The VW Touareg TDI is priced at 4.3M and with the discounts offered, the price will be around 3.8M+. That offers better value over the new Pilot.

I dont think anyone in this forum is buying one. Pricing itself between an Explorer and an LC200 is a bit ambitious. Then again, the explorer is dominant in its class (prado, pilot, cx9, chevy something).

It also looks like a big CRV.

Maybe Honda PH thinks Pinoys have more buying power than the people in Qatar.

Yeah, it is most likely the taxes but if other manufacturers can price the same category of vehicles for almost 1M less then Honda PH might be able to do something about their pricing.
