^ Checked the price of the CRV M/T 2.0 in Indonesia, it is priced at RP395,000 and converted to Peso it is P1,338,488. So those price conversion should be possible here in the Philippines

If you check the pricing for the jazz in indonesia though the base starts at around 690k pesos converted and the top of the line at 900k, so the base hrv might start at around 900k locally since they wouldn't want the hr-v to cannibalize jazz sales.

But at a 900K base model price, it will be very far from the dominating Ecosport currently selling 700-800 units per month which in gas CUV standard is a lot.
I believe they should ignore the Jazz (selling 100-200 units per month) cannibalization factor and just focus on stealing sales from Ford. Besides, this strategy is working with Ford with the Ecosport outselling the Fiesta 7:1.
.... unless this is another Honda "Prestige" pricing.

Agree on this one. However, fiesta is cheaper compared to the jazz, hence, they can price the eco at around 800k. But basically, you are right, ecosport is eating away sales from fiesta.

But knowing honda, i bet they dont want the jazz to be relegated to the stands.

Either ford messed up their pricing and got lucky with it, or they are really bold enough and saw that the day of the cuv is at hand.

Ecosport build quality is not the same as the Fiesta that's why the price is close to each other. If you check the Ford Ecosport closely, there are signs s of cheaper quality materials and workmanship. The HR-V will definitely cost more than the Ecosport.

Heard from the grapevine that Honda phils will initially release the 1.8 liter variant so expect the prices to start around 1.1M. Im hoping they can release the 1.5 soon though so it can be priced below 1M.

The HR-V won't compete with the Ecosport. I've seen one and it's much more premium compared to the Ecosport.
More like a Subaru XV competitor for me
