Hi Guys, we are planning to get an AT City. We are more concerned on the Fuel Economy.

    Ano ba mas matipid?

    1.3 AT or 1.5 AT?

Ano ba mas malaking factor sa city? Power to weight ratio in which case 1.5AT ang lamang? or dahil sa maliit na engine and magaan na body, lamang ang 1.3?

Hoping for your kind inputs :D

1.3 A/T owner here, 13-14 km/l city driving with moderate traffic condition, 17-18 km/l nlex driving with an average speed of 100 kph. IMO, power to weight ratio advantage applies only to 1.5 engine at Hi-way driving condition where FC become fully efficient. In heavy and moderate traffic condition, because of a bigger engine at idle speed, it consumes too much gasoline and this become the 1.5 engine less FC efficient, this is just what I have noticed and observed from the owners of honda city 1.5E from HCCP forum. Mahalaga power to weight ratio in general, pero depende sa expected regular load nyo. Kung puno, mas maigi 1.5 maski city driving. Otherwise, sapat na yung 1.3. Matipid talaga yun

Medyo mataas yung FC mo, bro. Sobrang traffic siguro sa area mo. I sometimes use a 2009 City 1.5E and I get about 10 Km/L on city driving. Even on Taft-like or Ayala CBD conditions, I get 9 Km/L, based on the dashboard meter. On mixed city-highway conditions, I can get 12 Km/L. My old Exalta N16 used to average 8 Km/L sa Makati CBD while my current daily drive (Accord 2001 2.3L AT) averages 6-7 Km/L.

Greetings Egan 101. Yes, you are correct on the traffic, Paco going to Greenhills routes, traffic talaga. Or maybe, my car is just running 6,000+ km. pa lang? Hindi pa masyadong break-in? Thanks for the info Egan101, its great to know.

Worse I got on a 2009 1.5E City was 8.5km/L and that was during the Christmas season. Walang hataw mode yan though. Best, on city, was 10-ish. All based on the MID. 40k odo

Needed? Just a good set of tint (not casa tint) and maybe a center armrest. Leatherette seat covers pwede sa Seatmate or Leder Interia or whatnot.

I've had nothing but bad experience with CASA tint. From bubbles to purpling over a few years. Better siguro you go get it elsewhere. Suggest ko sa labas mo nalang ipagawa.

Solargard or VKool or Huper Optik yung decent brands of tint. You get what you pay for.

Well - immediate - there's probably nothing 'super important' apart from those. Kung ano nalang trip mo. Some people prefer exterior modifications (pang porma), yung iba interior goodies or engine mods.

    Some other suggestions:

    1. Foglights (mas mahal sa casa pero pulido. kung wala kang kilala na magaling magkabit or good quality yung binebenta, I'd suggest getting from the casa or not getting at all). Est cost - 15-20k kapag sa casa

    2. Rain visors sa windows (functional mods, allows you to open the windows a little when raining without your car's interior getting wet) - est cost, 4k max. 500-1000 pnakamura (pero baka magkulay talong din in the future)

    4. Leatherette seat covers - makes the seat softer to sit on, looks more upscale (especially if done in a subdued, original seat color). est cost - ~5-6k

    5. Center armest - to keep stuff. est cost - 5.5k original sa casa

    6. Busina - I had accord horns fitted on my civic. Well ako mismo nagbaklas ng bumper at gumawa after watching some videos. Some people prefer aftermarket horns but make sure you have this done at a shop that knows what they do.

1.3 a/t. I can't believe na magkakaproblema ako sa new car na to. I used to drive a 2001 Honda Civic VTIS so medyo monitored ko ang FC ng honda. Grabe, I am disappointed.

*picanicanick - medyo quirky talaga yung fuel gauge ng City at Jazz (2009-present). Sensor lang ata gamit to check fuel sa tank, not like old cars na mayrun floater. If the gauge drops below the 1st mark or the range drops below 30km, the fuel low sign will light up and di nagiging accurate yung range meter sa dashboard (unless naka cruising speed ka sa highway). Di matatanggal yang low fuel warning at di aangat yung fuel gauge unless kargahan mo ng gas 7 liters or more. Yung isang mark sa gauge is about 3 liters. When I first used the City back in 2009, napansin ko kaagad yun. Umilaw yung fuel low warning, kinargahan ko ng 4L just to have the gauge move past the 1st mark. Di umangat yung gauge tapos nakailaw pa rin yung low fuel warning. Kinargahan ko ulit ng 6L, ayun umangat na yung fuel gauge to the 4th mark (just below midline ng fuel gauge). From then on, I make it a point to never let the gauge drop below the 1st mark. To check your fuel consumption, just use the dash meter for fuel efficiency. Last setting eto sa dash trip meter.

Which isn't quite accurate, especially if the owner forgets to reset the trip meter.
