i own a city. bought it last dec. 2009. so far satisfied naman ako sa performance niya. good fc 15-17km/L. good acceleration, power. slight bumpy ride pero tolerable. ang kagandahan sa honda good resale value.

Sir, ano pong driving habit nyo? Para magaya ko din. New driver pa lang din kasi ako. Tnx po. 😄

matipid talaga sir. manila to cavite. 80kph ave speed with all the traffic. my highest was 19km/L when we went north.

wow.. 19 k/l parang mirage ah hehe.. matipid pala yang honda city, yung civic ko na luma lakas sa gas pag city driving.. siguro 12k/l kpg highway, pag city driving nasa 7 km/l

oh wow! congrats.
check paint finish. make sure its spotless.
check dashboard and plastic sidings. make sure its snug and tight and doesnt squeak
check tire pressure, usually they jack up the tire pressure to 45 or so when it should only be 32 front, 30 rear

random tips:

tanggalin nyo rin yung antenna, esp when parking at unsecured places. de-screw lang naman yun, madali itago (or nakawin hehe)

dont let your fuel run low, masama sa pump yun in the long run. pag mga tipong 1/4 or 1/5 na lang, pa gas na kayo.

stick to one fuel brand / variant. kanya-kanyang halo kasi ng additives ang mga fuel companies. pwede na rin yung middle-grade, di kailangan ng top (aka blaze, vpower racing) dahil bago. (i personally use petron xcs sa jazz 1.5 ko dahil sa bpi cc rebate hehe.)

if you have cats (pets or strays), get nice thick car cover! grabe ang hilig matulog ng mga yan sa bubong or hood, which they will scratch sooner or later (we have 2 pet cats, kainis haha)

get a steering wheel lock. may immobilizer keys naman ang cars natin, pero visual theft deterrent na rin.

sirs... just want to ask... my friend wants to buy a brand new honda city within the week... may mga 2012 pa na units and mga 2013 daw na kadadating... may differences ba sa features nung dalawa?

What I need now is to know the proper maintenance of a brand new Honda city. I like him sparkly clean and sana mag last ung prettiness Nya hehehe...

It was fun driving him. Even my dad and friends say so. Ganda ng sounds and shocks daw, those are the first things they've noticed. Pati na ung color hehehe. Very roomy din. A big guy can lay at the back seat with about 6" more to spare sa sides (of course with feet up hehehe) so Kahit malubak ka, sure di ka mahuhulog sa pagtulog mo. Very quite din ung engine, we're driving up tagaytay and we can barely hear the engine, that's with 5 adults and 2 kids inside. Super like!

New car owner here. I have acquired my honda city 1.5L last Dec 27th. What do we call of the transparent glass/plastic(?) covering the speedometer and odometer? I saw a crack, i'm not sure if i caused the crack when i was cleaning. Would this easily crack? Could i get warranty on this? If i can't warranty, how much will i pay in casa to change it? Thanks.

Ibinalik ko sa Honda (dealer). Nadaan sa wax, saglit lang mga 5 minutes ayos na, hindi naman pala crack.

Makapag-inquire po ulit. Sabi kasi nag-demo na dapat ang AC is nasa 8th bar sa thermostat para hindi mag-fog sa Rear, pero mataas naman mag-consume sa gas. Tama po ba yung ganung adjustment ng thermostat?
Ilang bars po gamit niyo sa thermostat? at anong FC niyo? Thanks.

Parang wala pa press release Honda regarding that, so probably manufactured date lang diff nun. Your friend can just ask his agent for details

Do note may rumored new model for 2014 ang city, which you could use to get more discounts for the current model (which i believe is on promo with banks)

To 2012 honda city owners, has anybody tried to use a Royal Purple oil for your engine instead of the casa supplied LEV fully synthetic oil? may improvement po ba sa performance or any other negative effects? TIA sa mga magrereply....

No change oil for sure, general inspection lang. Brakes, fluids, suspension, etc. A good time to raise your complaints too, esp if may rattling or squeeking. Kaya matapos in an around an hour, depende sa pila
