Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
afaik only the hatch will have the beam axle..the coupe and sedan will retain the independent rear suspension daw..

This author has too much expectations from Honda:
And yet another thread to add to 2006 Civic spces confusionCompare to BMW's Valvetronic and Volkswagen group's standardized FSI direct injection, I suppose the i-VTEC fuel saving technology is not as sophisticated and as effective. It is disappointing that Honda, once the technology leader in the world, became more and more conservative today. Although the new Civic looks radical, its mechanicals are rather conservative.![]()
doesn't the altis have a torsion beam rear? it can't be worse than the dinosaur old favorite macpherson struts on all four corners right?
I forgot to mention that my wife's 2004 Sentra has a beam-axle as well.
Beam axles are not that bad. And they give the advantages of less cost, less weight, less complexity and more space efficiency.

True... i noticed more trunk space on cars equipped with this as the struts dont intrude too much... plus no need for rear wheel alignment or camber. If its only for the coupe and hatch then the most likely reason is to help on space efficiency.Originally Posted by OTEP
And it doesn't necessarily mean bad handling as well.
The Series 3 Sentras are a pretty darn good ride if you ask me.
no offense, it might be good enough for 90% of the population, but still not good enough for the higher demands in terms of handling in Formula One and World Rallye Championships.Originally Posted by pink_cadillac
I like the alfa style hidden rear doors. Heheh. Major downgrade switching to a beam.
From the sophisticated multi-link setup to a beam... and from Honda at that. saddening.
But look on the bright side... it does have a six speed tranny! And im sure honda has studied their beam implementation well.
beam axle din ba yung ginamit sa nissan maxima several years back, which earned praises from the automotive world?
for its engine perhaps, don't recall it had ever had good review about its handling.Originally Posted by 109
