additional questions lang sana, since ang ignition coil e part ng distibutor, kung papalitan ko ba ito, hindi ko kailangan palitan ang buong distributor assembly? yung coil niya lang ba? mga magkano kaya yun?
again salamat sa panahon ninyo, mga ka-tsikot...

try with a good known distributor and replicate the conditions where, when, speed and other parameters when this problem usually occur with a borrowed distributor before committing to buy a replacement or test with an oscilloscope if have access to one. mere testing with a digital multimeter usually misses where the oscilloscope can capture freeze frame pictures

another question though, how about the carb? may possibility din ba na ang carburetor ang cause ng problema kung bakit namamatay ang makina habang tumatakbo ang sasakyan?

with stalling, check outside the box. check the exhaust for backpressure, check the fuel cap at the tank. the cap has a one way valve to allow atmospheric pressure to enter the tank but keeps the fumes in the tank to go to the charcoal canister to reduce unburnt fuel emissions into the atmosphere.

June 19th, 2011 06:59 PM #17dude, ok na ba kotse mo? nanyari na din kasi sa akin to.. nagpalit ako buong ignition coil, 1500php yata surplus sa banawa if i could recall it right.. tapos patune-up ng carburator sa kamuning, dun yung specialist, 1200 kasama na parts and labor + warranty.. i hope makatulong sayo..

but it seems we have already fixed the car...
bale ang ginawa kasi namin (before ko pa pinost itong thread na ito), in-orderan na namin ng surplus carburetor 'tong LX ko, tapos pag kabit ng bago, nagtest drive kami for a good mile, e hindi na nag-recur ang issue...tapos kanina, we went for a whole day city drive at naging smooth naman ang biyahe, no stalling whatsoever...
could this be the fix? I cannot say that yet, i still have to wait and see...
pero if the same thing happens, my next step will be to check the ignition coil, as what you guys have been pointing out here...
but hopefully, hindi na muna ako hahantong pa dun para naman maka-recover muna ako kahit papa'no financially...
will keep you posted 'til then, but if you don't hear from me again regarding this issue, then please consider this issue was fixed by replacing the entire carburetor ass'y...

June 21st, 2011 10:37 PM #19Pre, magkano nagastos mo?... i have the same problem with same car... biglang namamatay - parang na-short sa gas, kelangang i-press at ipump ng husto gas during start-up... kung papatayin naman, minsan merong matitirang idling... palinis fuel tank na lang di ko pa napagawa. June 22nd, 2011 01:34 AM #206K+ ang bili namin sa surplus na carb, boss...ang problema lang talaga eh ang availability nito, parang phase out na kasi eh, hirap maghanap...buti na lang resourceful yung shop owner na pinagawan ko nito at nakakuha siya sa Manila...so far hindi pa bumabalik ang issue ng stalling kaya tingin ko ito din ang solusyon nyang sa iyo...
yung na-mention mong natitirang idling, dahil yun sa excess gasoline combustion, mataas siguro ang idle rpm mo...ganyan din kasi yung sa akin before, pag turn-off sa makina eh parang gusto pang umandar ulit! 1500 rpm kasi yung menor ko noon...pero ngayong napalitan ko na yung carb niya, 800 rpm na at hindi na erratic...
