Sir, we have a 2004 vti-s (MT) all stock, never encountered overheating problem. Basta properly maintained ang auto mo, ayos yan!

ang alam kong pala-overheat sa katagalan ay yung mga EK series 1996-2000.

i own a 03 vti-s and i've never encountered a temp problem as well (touch wood).

    *TS

I only had one incident when my 04 Civic overheated and this is because of a busted thermostat. But once I had it replaced, I never had any issues with the car.

the risk of overheating for aging cars is not a surprise actually. as long as the car is maintained and monitored, you would be fine.

check for leaks, the level of the coolant on how fast it decreases, the fans should be working, etc...

good luck on your civic. casa mo na or any trusted honda shop that would thoroughly check the car. it's still an old car, kaya you gotta have extra for repairs. i like the es in white.

The coolant you use (tap water, aftermarket, wrong type, or Honda-specific) would eventually dictate how reliable your coolant system will be in the long run.

It's not enough that the coolant level is maintained. It's equally important to use Honda-specific coolant on Hondas.

Trust me. Been there, done that.
