The EK has a high resale value because it's the class leader during its time. No other rival introduced variable valve timing in the late 90s. Its power and efficiency are primarily what keeps its selling price at the top.
The ES model, unfortunately, doesn't share the same story. Cars like the Altis and 3 got this by the throat. This Civic is simply outclassed. It looks cheaply made and designed, and given that fuel tank detachment issue on several units, it's certainly the weak link of the Civic moniker.
Just wait for the 8th gen, or settle with a worthier car.
