ISUZU DMAX, is it really what they say it is?

Guys, My father and I are canvasing for a new Pick-up truck. To be honest, with what we had experienced with the x-wind XTO, we are leaning on NP300 Navara and Ford Ranger. (although I know it is unfair to be comparing the x-wind with the DMAX, that's why I need your opinion on this) One thing though that caught my attention is the claimed 18km per ltr. fuel consumption of this model. If I am not mistaken, DMAX is using a 3.0 ltr. engine right? can anyone confirm if this is true or hoax. One more thing, is this durable?? what is the selling point of the DMAX?:help Engine power output is not as impressive as what the other competitors can offer...pls give me some facts. thank you. God Bless.

Isuzu intentionally restrict the power from their engines for longevity and fuel efficiency. Parang di daw nasasakal lagi, which is why it's so popular in Thailand. Favorite din ng tuners, maybe because their engines are flexible enough to take on performance chips pag na unlock ang full power ng 3.0 (or even the 2.5). Ang ayaw ko lang sa local D-Max is wala yung "value for money" proposition unlike the mu-X na loaded na even if it's the cheapest in the competition. For me unfair ang comparison ng current engines (2.5/3.0) sa new engines ng competitors. Matipid na yung decades old 4JJ1, what more yung new 1.9L 6-speed transmission combo ng updated D-Max. Even though decades old na nga yung design, nag undergo naman yan ng revisions (4th revision na ata ngayon I think - Euro VI compliant na).
