so far so good sir. im very satisfied with the headunit and its options. wifi na lang ata kulang nya para kumpleto na. ahihihihi!

i even saw the same headunit for sale sa isang car audio shop sa may makati. not sure if they offer the same package though.. nagmamadali kasi din ako that time.

Nabasa ko sa mga news articles na sobrang traffic ngayon dahil sa nangyari kanina sa EDSA. Times like this, maganda sana kung upgraded yung in-car-entertainment mo from stock. :D

Exactly sir! I can now imagine having to catch some shows sa TV or I can watch yung mga downloaded series habang nasa traffic. Pero siyempre safety first, watching and driving don't mix well But I want the option to watch kung nasa tabi lang ako or if ako yung passenger hehe

im starting to think that this headunit cannot play MP4s.... kasi nag babasa ako ng manual ngayon and it only indicated DVDs, VCDs, MP3s and "MPEG4" (which i believe is the "VCD"... tried playing MP4 MTVs and nag eerror siya... "Unsupported" daw.

I thought baka kasi sobrang high quality yung MP4 na na-download ko (kasi pag pi-play ko yung mp4 MTV ko sa computer naka full screen na.. malinaw pa din) so i assume that the headunit cannot play this high-of-a resolution...

haven't got time to download new MTVs with lower resolution.. maybe this weekend.

but still, its ok.. i can still burn those MTVs into DVD Video format..

Baka may specific mpeg format lang kaya isupport. May .mp4 kasi na mpeg4-part2 and meron nung higher quality na mpeg4-AVC or H.264. I think yung supported niya is yung former.
Btw, VCDs are often done in mpeg1-part2 and DVDs/BDs in mpeg2-part2 or H.262

malapit na matapos installation ng 2din sa nissan livina. prepare ko lang videos and pics and also demo of the dual zone (picture in picture) GPS navigation while watching DVD/TV listening to the radio/ipod/cd

could it be just like china made mp3/4/5 players? made in china ba yang HU? no pun intended to everyone pero kasi baka may point ako.
usually kasi ng mga binebenta ng mga bumbay na players e basta kaya mag play ng mp3 at video, tinatawag na nila agad na mp4 or mp5 player <---which in reality eh there's no such thing or walang nag eexist na .mp5 file format to start it off with. tsaka yung videos kasi na nape-play nung players nila eh ibang format kadalasan at hindi .mp4 mismo. it might be the answer here why it can't play .mp4 files

as long as it can really play .mp4 files, it doesn't have to have issues regarding resolutions. it sure would be something that has to deal with the encryption on how that .mp4 was created just like what sir albert_b said BUT if it does also already included codecs, but still cannot play some files, then that only means it lacks some codecs pa rin. i mean, it has some but only incomplete

don't get me wrong here, i also love to have this unit. i'm just sharing my thoughts here on why it doesn't play some files. baka nga rin kasi may restrictions yan sa bitrates when it comes to mp3, wag naman sana

sir jedi meron ba kayong pang mount nyan sa 1997 accord at 2003 lancer?
sa accord kasi di ko maalala pero parang 1din lang yung nakita ko na para sa HU niya, wag naman sana kasi balak ko mag 2din din gamit yan since madami na nagagandahan. im'ma suggest this one to my friend who also happens to be shopping for 2din touchscreen HU kasi. sana sir may mount sa accord...

just to add on what sir Burai said about the codec and what format the HU can play. assuming that the unit can only play VCD & DVD format, we can actually buy a media player and input it in on the HU to play other formats like .avi. downside is that we need to have a power inverter to power the media player.

yes indeed, mr burai has a point in that... pero regarding sa mp4 quality if its HD or not that the unit can play it in regards of resolution, that im not sure.. for example, I have downloaded a MTV that is rated a 720p resolution, tried playing it with Archos media player and it cant. I tried lowering the resolution by re-downloading it with a lower resolution than 720p and it did play after that download..

I have found one of my dvd discs when I was with IBM, saved 3 HD movies downloaded as avi formats, but unfortunately it cant play 1 of those movies (yung transformers pa! tsk!) but the remaining 2 movies? yes! na play nya...

so this unit can play separate AVI files.. pero hindi ko alam kung bakit the same AVI file kong transformer cannot be played din.

lapit na weekend.. this sunday im planning to check this one out.. maybe search some file converters to look for a specific convert that the unit can play with no issues..

but yes... im still happy with the unit. kahit nakaka kita tayo ng issues sa naka indicate sa box versus what it can really do.

just to add by the way, tried playing a pirated dvd.. blue ray copy (sorry pirated.... can't afford kasi masyado.. mahal na gasolina ngayon hehehe!) me and my wife were scratching our heads na may ang ganda ng copy.. malinaw na malinaw then there is this girl voice that is describing what is the show all about ... (parang lahat ng nakikita sa TV eh dini-discribe nya) we discovered that the copy was really a blue ray copy and it also had that options na pang 'bulag' na pwede siya makinig, there is the caption also and such..

this player can read those captions, it can be removed also.... and that option for those who are blind... a voice will describe what can be seen on the monitor... galing! :D

oops.. forgot to add.. regarding mp3 bitrates, yes, it can play high bitrates... already tested it..

I had once this cdrking usb player and where I have converted some of my favorite songs into 512 and 256 bitrates and it can play them with no issues.

para sa mga custom panels... im planning to get directly from china para sa mga panels na hindi available sa local suppliers. ill post a new thread for this... then invite others na gusto sumabay

ayus, pwede naman pala AVI. siguro sa codec lang ang pinagkaiba. kailangan lang malaman kung anong type and resolution ang gagamitin to convert videos lalo na kung galing sa HD (.mkv).

I downloaded a mp4 video with a mid and high resoluton (800x600 and 1024x768) as indicated on downloading... unfortunately i didnt get it to play... unsupported daw.

next step siguro is to look for a AVI converter...
