After replacing my car alarm with PKE. Didn't know the keyfob has issues when it's placed right beside the phone. Sinundo ko si misis sa opisina. Patay makina pagdating, baba ako at binuksan ko yung compartment para lagay yung gamit niya. Sabay nag-lock!

May isang time nasa cubao ako, stop light. First time ko mag drive dun, pero maraming beses na rin ako nakapunta dun kaso tulog nga lang sa passenger seat. May habit kasi ako na kapag stop light, usually naka first gear ako tapos naka tapak sa clutch eh nung time na yun medyo natagalan ako sa stop light kaya shift to neutral ako + handbrake. Kaso for some reason, nakatapak pa rin ako sa clutch! Akala ko for a moment may sira yung kotse...yun pala, ako ang may mali.

After reading the "... park stupidly" thread I just realized that I parked over a PWD ramp in front of the National Museum. May security guard at mga tambay na nagdidirect ng parking sa labas dahil punuan na ang parking sa loob on a Sunday and it so happened that the PWD ramp was being vacated by another car when we got there. I didn't notice that it was a ramp, akala ko eroded portion lang ng sidewalk kaya sinunod ko lang yung guard.

    Now I know better.

Let's see. One time here in town, an older 2000's Trans Am cut me off and I got pissed off and tailed him. Finally, when we pulled into red light he got out and I was astounded. This guy was huge! I've worked with people who are over 6 feet tall. But, this guy towered above them. Built like a tank too. I recall thinking, "Geeeez. This guy is a golem!" His eyes were all puffed up like he had been smoking some weed. He motioned at me to get out. Of course, I didn't. He'd pound me to dust. But, I did rev the engine and did some tire spins. If he made a move towards me, I'm going to run him over. He got back to his car and sped off.

Nung tuesday afternoon, sa promenade. Drop off lang ako passenger, then labas na. Almost hit the car, buti nalang.

Turning on my hazard light during a downpour. I know, it was stupid of me. I even defended its use.

Now with very bright LED tail lamps, there's simply no excuse to use them to "warn" others of your presence even during a heavy downpour. My contention back then was that it's a crash deterrent because you are seen.

Now, whenever I see people using their hazard lights during the rain, I tell myself, I was once that stupid also. I hope someday, someone tells them it's terribly confusing that people needlessly have to honk to pass.

Downsides of having push-to-start and keyless entry:

    1. Pipindutin ang button sa driver door expecting it to unlock. No response then I'll realize hindi ko pala dala ang susi.

    2. Nag-stop sa gilid and turned on the hazard lights. Namatay tuloy makina.

    Eto sana wag mangyari:
    - mapindot ang START button at mamatayan ng engine at electrical while cruising. Not sure how the car will handle it as it's not in the owners manual.
    - drive somewhere, park, turn off the engine and later on realize na naiwan pala ang susi sa bahay.

Mind if I ask what your kid is doing in the front seat of the car? Isn't that dangerous specially when the car is moving?

Our daughter has been taught not to seat in front. She stays in the back and with seat belt always unless told otherwise. She is also told not to touch any controls unless allowed to do so. I told her she can seat in front once she's 12 and she will be ready to be taught the basics of driving.

What circumstances will you push the start button when your hands are supposed to be on the steering wheel while cruising? Unless you are habitually moving your hands on the dashboard or somewhere else while driving?

You cannot open the locked doors and start the car with push button ignition without the Key FOB with you. Also, in the case that someone started the car for you and forgot to give you the Key FOB, an alarm or chime will inform you that you don't have the FOB inside the car.

What happens if you push the button WHILE driving ? ( Don't try this in your own car ) - YouTube

Added bonus: what happens when you put your car in reverse while it's moving.

Tutal usapan na naman and SUA. Stepped on the accelerator when I thought I was stepping on the brake pedal.

1st. While backing out of the parking area of a wheel alignment center. Fortunately, the street behind me was empty at yung pag-reverse ko non e pakanan ang pwitan. Was also able to brake as soon as I realized my error.

2nd. After parallel parking on the street. I was supposed to press the brake pedal to shift to Park. Stepped on the accelerator hard (kasi nga akala ko preno) instead. Buti naka handbrake at naka-Neutral pa.

It also helps na mini hatch lang gamit ko.

1st time to drive a car. We parked at Jollibee to eat. Chev aveo, yung susi nya pag tinanggal mo sa ignition automatic engaged kagad ang alarm. So if you unlocked the door after removing the key the alarm will sound. Didn't know na dapat unlock mo muna all the doors before removing the key. We spent 30 minutes to an hour troubleshooting the situation before deciding to "screw this, bahay na lang tayo kumain"

Another 1 is recent lang. Chev spin, we can't start the car, no response sa ignition. We had to call my brother in law because he knows some things about cars. Nung pagdating nya he found out that the car is on neutral kaya ayaw mag start.

    this is common enough.
parked the car in the mall parking, then went about to mall.
when i got back, i couldn't turn off the alarm using my fob. also, "the key wouldn't fit".
when i peered inside, "things looked kind of strange.."
then it hit me: wrong car! ka-kulay and ka-model... my car is in the other aisle...

Yung mga ganyang bagay about the alarm hindi ba dapat tinuturo ng mga SA upon release ng kotse?
