Police cited witnesses who said a man shot the victim just as she was about to enter the meditation center, where she was a student.

A woman, who on her way to attend a meditation class, was shot dead and run over by suspected carjackers using her car in Quezon City yesterday morning.

The victim, identified as Teresita Teano, 34, died on the spot for gunshot wounds in the right cheek and right upper arm.

Investigator PO3 Gregorio Maramag said the victim was supposed to attend a session at the Brahma Krudis meditation school at around 6 a.m. at the corner of 34 T. Gener St. and Kamuning Road in Bgy. Kamuning, Quezon City, when she was shot.

When she fell down in front of her car, a Hyundai Accent, the victim was run over by her vehicle driven by one of the suspects in their haste to escape.

Maramag learned from a certain Kagawad Julian that there were two unidentified men involved in the carjacking.

He said the suspects were believed armed with revolvers since they found no spent shells at the scene. One of the suspects left behind a holster but it did not show what kind of weapon they used.

Companions of Teano at the Brahma Kurdis told the police that the victim was running late for her session which was supposed to start at 6 a.m. when they heard shouts for help outside. When they checked, they saw the car sped away while the victim lay dead on the street.

The kagawad said the victim had just arrived and was about to proceed to the Brahma Kurdis school when she was approached by the suspects. She struggled with them over the car’s key.

No family member has yet claimed the body of the victim and talked with the police, Maramag said.
