Street Legal ba yung ganito kalapad na Delivery van? Di na kita ng driver ang nasa part ng likod nya at gilid. Mas malapad pa yung cargo area nya sa nguso ng van

if it's registered with LTO then it must be legal.

Not sure locally but in other markets like australia, the side mirrors are modified. The side mirrors must still extend beyond the width of the vehicle. Vehicle with narrow cabs and wide bodies are legal so long as they comply.

In the u.s. Even towing a trailer requires wider tow mirrors.

Its legal kasi extended yung side mirror din.

We are using na ganyan. Mas grabe yung sobrang haba pero ang chasis ay para lang sa 6w na elf.

Hmmm... That statement is debatable actually. ^

I think it's legal if the side mirrors extend past the wider cargo body. There are many unscrupulous converted delivery vans who are like this, but with stock mirrors.

^ Very unstable and mga ganyan. If the rear cargohold is wide, why not just go for a wide body cab and chassis as well? My guess is they do that do avoid the truck ban (narrow chassis with 4-wheels vs. wide chassis with 6 wheels).

Partly yes. The truck ban affects six wheelers and bigger trucks. Four wheeler trucks are just affected by the traffic coding. If you have to run a business, you will have to be creative with the stupid laws in the country.

rule of thumb is 8ft wide for trailer chassis with container box.anything above it is considered illegal. siguro they are taking advantage of that gray area that if it is 8ft it is ok notwithstanding the type of vehicle.

Yup you have to be creative. Good thing in Metro Manila the truck ban is consistent that a truck has to weigh 4500 kgs or more to be affected by the ban.

In Batangas, there is a town that implements a truck ban that affects delivery trucks weighing 3800 kgs or more regardless of the number of wheels. Was surprised when our truck was apprehended bec it was a 4 wheel local mitsu canter weighing 4200 kgs. tried to contest but found out that it is a local ordinance or something to that effect. So we now use L300 vans for deliveries to that town.

Truck ban daw. Not overload. The truck's registration papers shows gross vehicle weight of 4200 so its in violation of their local truck ban ordinance. The GVW is also printed on the side of the truck.

But given the light duty design of L300, wouldn't the L300 need more maintenance when used as a daily delivery truck?
