I was driving along katipunan this afternoon and the guy directly behind me was flashing his lights at me. Typically, Id interpret this as him urgently wanting to pass.. But since i was in the middle lane, and the lanes to my left and right were free, I didn't understand. Was my trunk open? Nope. Was i flat? Hindi rin naman.

Eventually he passed me on the right (passenger side). The driver had his window down, was wearing shades, and looked at me. I thought may isesenyas siya, wala, tumitig lang.

Was he taunting me to race?? Hehe I thought, "hindi naman siguro, coz that would be funny and crazy (aside from illegal and unsafe)." Anyone else experience this before? Or has done this to someone else? Whats up??

if you're hugging a certain lane, he wants you to speed ahead.
pero sabi mo nga nasa middle lane ka naman, & he's free to take the left & right lanes.

    baliw yan sir.........

    1. "It may mean "GET OUT OF THE LANE, YOU BUGGER"

It's hard to know what his intentions were since you said you were in the middle lane.

I flash my lights for 2 reasons:

    1. To signal a car travelling slowly in the fast lane to move out

    2. To signal that I am passing through. Eg I am in the middle lane and there's a 10 wheeler truck in the fast lane and another in the rightmost lane and they are travelling at the same slow pace. The car in front of me might misinterpret the flash as directed towards him but it's really for the trucks.

Question is, what's his car ?

Mataba ba yung driver ? Tapos medyo semi-kalbo, then naka lean ng sobra yung upuan ? Tapos naka shades nga .... at may yosi na hawak ? Hahahaha.

It's supposed to be a polite way of saying 'excuse me' or 'hello'. Though I don't know if that was meant for you.

Give way. In that case I just give them a finger.

You may have wronged him earlier without you knowing it. He was probably just getting even.

Btw, his car was a packed L300 kaya hindi ko maisip na gusto niya mag race, altho, it crossed my mind coz after passing me somewhat slowly, reckless lane changing sha as he "sped off". If it were a rice looking car, that would have been a likely conclusion. Now that i think of it, baka bad trip lang sha coz mainit sa L300 niya (overloaded kasi) and baka kinukulit sha ng asawa niya -- kaya naghahanap lang ng outlet. Hmm..

Hmmm... The only thing i can think of is nabagalan sha sakin nung nasa balara pa kami coz i dont like speeding over big potholes! People who live in the area know lagi na lang ginagawa and ang bilis masira nung road na yun. Pero he wasnt flashing naman until nasa katipunan na, where libre na sha mag overtake on either side. I live just around so 5 mins pa lang ako sa daan nun. But perhaps...

I agree, nakakainis yung mga mahilig magabuse ng lights and even busina! Hehe

Badinger Z = driver sa likod mo

Ako kasi I flash my lights depende sa situation...but mostly to illuminate the road ahead...lalo na sa Buendia/Roxas Blvd...kasi may mga area dun na walang street lights and madami gago na tumatawid ng alanganin.

Or kung mukhang di alam ng nasa harap ko kung saan sila pupunta...yung parang di decided kung straight, left or right...pati busina...ginagamit ko...for me its a way to let them know na nandun ako...but mostly sa dark areas...malay ko a kung malabo mata ng driver na yun.

What does it mean when someone flashes his lights behind you?
