napakinggan ko lang sa radio last night...here goes the story...

Nabaha daw yung Ford Escape ni Phoem mga last month (siguro nung kasagsagan ng mga bagyo). being the busy person she is (tsaka babae), she took her Escape to where she bought her Escape (which is Ford Alabang). the usual chit-chats with her service advisor and left.

after one week daw, tinawagan daw sya ng service advisor. sinisingil daw sya ng 300k. she admitted that she would have a hard time paying that off, and her service advisor told her na pwede namang mag-below the table transaction sila, which is (it is not what you think guys).... she would just have to give her service advisor 50k and her service advisor can make the cost lower by half (which is 150k). however, she refused the offer and told the service advisor that she will be pulling out her vehicle.

nung nagpunta sya sa ford alabang, she was shocked to find out that her escape eh parang nakahoy na. kalas-kalas na, tapos nakatengga dun sa likuran ng ford alabang compound (for those of you who have seen this place, open field sya, hindi covered, parang american used car junk shop).

    her issues:

    a) bakit daw ganung kataas yung price?
    b) bakit daw kinalas-kalas na yung escape nya ng wala pa syang go-signal to proceed?
    c) ano daw yung 50k na under the table na hinihingi ng service advisor?

this thing happened yesterday lang daw. she ended up taking the MRT para makahabol sya sa star patrol last night (malas....sana nakasakay ko na lang sya...)

what is your opinion on these peeps? and beware on how ford alabang does business. baka kasi kala nung service advisor, madami syang pera dahil for one, naka escape sya and second, showbiz personality sya.

I'm guessing na hindi talaga 300K yung fee ng repairs.

The "service advisor" pegged it at 300k so he can hustle the 50K "discount fee" out of Phoemela Barranda.

Ford Alabang, ayusin niyo na yan!

Had a bad experience with them before, but it did not amount to P50K or even P300K. Come to think of it, what could the P300K consist of? Wasn't the vehicle running anymore? (As in the case of the 'other' Escape.)And how much of a flood did it actually go through to warrant P300K repairs?

its time to call in the non-motoring journalists and lawyers. It'll will be a field day! ... the motoring journalists, on the other hand, would probably turn a blind eye on this (if they will want their annual freebies from Ford and associated companies like Mazda).

good point, ghosthunter. to clear their name, Ford should come up with some sort of explanation on this matter. tsk tsk!

oh well, this is another issue. ma off topic na ako. hehehe

+1. let's wait for further developments. parang ang hirap ngang maniwala na P300K yung damages dahil sa baha, samantalang tumatakbo naman yung sasakyan. not unless of course she brought the car to Ford Alabang with the help of a tow truck, then that's another story.

perhaps someone connected to Ford and/or Ford Alabang can shed some light on this issue? due to a past experience, i'm not too much of a fan of Ford Alabang, but to be fair, they shouldn't be unjustly condemned.

I bet our favorite 'journalist' RBG would jump the gun on this one again. hehehe.

What was the extend of the damage to the vehicle? Did she hydrolock it also?

Hmmm.... Ford Alabang is on the top of the list of Ford Service providers. None of us have ever had any major problems with them (lots of Fords and Lincolns in the family). Even amongst the Ford club, we hold Alabang in high regard.

My car is in for its regular PMS. I'll poke around out back tomorrow when I get it and look for the vehicle.

If she has the name of the service advisor, she should report her case directly to management. They always perform a follow-up on every service, and they're eager to please, if only to retain their award for another year.

Some advisors are quite helpful, but of course, with the turnover of older, more experienced people, you can't help but get bad eggs in the new batch.

    -----

So, big question... 300k for what? It was in a flood, yes... but was it running, or parked? Was it hydrolocked? If it was hydrolocked, and she left it for check-up, of course, they have to take the car apart to see what's wrong. And besides that, they'd remove all the seats, carpetting and interior, to clean it. If it's just cleaning and drying, it's about 25k (that's what my relatives paid after the flood... I was lucky that I moved my car early... )... but an electronics problem is around 50k to 100k in boxes, plus maybe 100k+ for an overhaul. All in, it can conceivably approach 300k.

If he's offering to lower it... what's he going to do? steal parts off of other broken Escapes (it's possible, marami naman total wrecks na nakatambak doon). Although he was purportedly trying to help, dapat i-report niya yung tao na yun directly sa Ford. Especially since he knew she wanted to pull out the vehicle, dapat pina-balik na rin niya ang lahat.

You're really f*cked if your car gets flooded. No warranty. Big bill. She should just take it outside and look for surplus replacements. That's what a friend did for his Mazda3. Instead of 200k plus from the casa, he spent 50k from Bulacan.

As for the tambak... yeah, I'd be pissed off, too. That's one complaint I have about Ford Alabang... sobrang crowded, so sometimes, less urgent cases or finished cars awaiting pick-up are parked outside. Halos di ka makagalaw sa loob ngayon sa sobrang daming nagpapagawa.

If she had any major questions about the way the procedure was handled, she should've gone straight to the DCRC to ask. Hopefully, they can work it out. Poster girl pa naman si Phoemela for the Ford Focus Cup.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

alaga ng ford alabang ang fordclub for so long and nobody has had a bad experience so far except for one poster (non-member) but we heard ford alabang's side sabi nila yung pinipilit nung owner na mismatched color nung body repair nya eh infact naisabit nya agad yung door nya nagkagasgas kaya nya pinipilit kasi para libre nga naman papintura ng pinto nya ulit.

hopefully we hear Ford alabang's side
