A MALACAÑANG executive lost his Mitsubishi Pajero to car thieves who sneaked into his San Pedro, Laguna home on the wee hours of Sunday morning as he and his family slept soundly.
Press Undersecretary Robert Rivera said his sports utility vehicle (MTA 222) model 2000 was parked in the garage of his house at the La Marea village when his maid discovered that it was missing at around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

San Pedro police and members of Anti-Carnapping Task Force Limbas said the car thieves could have used an electronic gadget that opened the vehicle's doors.

Rivera said stolen vehicles could be shipped either to Sabah, Malaysia or Indonesia to be resold.

The last time security guards at his village saw the car parked at his house was around 1:30 am of Sunday when they were patrolling the grounds of the subdivision.

Rivera told reporters that the Pajero, which he bought in 2003, was his personal car and he had last used it on Friday.

He said the car thieves did not touch the Hyundai Grace van parked outside his house.

    holy kamote. yaiks.

the sim-based security device seems more tempting by the minute.

ako no security device at home except for 2 dogs (mestizo daschund and mini-pinscher) and 2 pairs of steel gates...which i gotta take the wd40 off the joints para maingay uli sila.

iba pa rin talaga when you have alarm and attack dog combo (mini pin + rott/dobe/ambull),its not a guaranty that your house wont get intruded but you can trust that these dogs they will surely do what they need to.

Grabe naman! How were the culprits able to bring the Pajero out without being detected? Surely there would be some kind of noise or something to wake the occupants up. Unless walang tao ds loob nung nangyari yun o soundproof yung bahay o kaya, sabi nga nila inside job.
