May 16th, 2003 09:17 AM #1Is it just me or talagang andami nang mga scooters/motorbikes sa National Highways sa South?
Just like the tricycles, mga astig din yung mga yun... they leisurely ride in the middle of the highway (even at nights), tapos ayaw tumabi kahit nakatutok ka na sa kanila. Mahilig din mag-counterflow yung mga nae-encounter ko...
There's this incident na hindi ko napansin yung isang motorbike na may angkas pa (both without helmets) na nagpipilit sumingit sa right side ko. The road is rather narrow... nagpilit yung kumag na sumingit tapos nagmumura pa -- bakit daw ayaw ko magpasingit???? Slow moving ang traffic nun eh. Pucha! Kung barag-barag lang ang ride ko eh dinunggol ko na sana yung motorbike na yun! Feeling yata nila eh excempted ang mga two-wheeled vehicles sa traffic rules and regulations and I think they feel that its their "right and privilege" to flaunt these rules kasi nga eh dalawa lang ang gulong nila...

Wala ba tayo magagawa para ma-ban sila sa mga major highways? Nakaka-inis na talaga sila eh. Its either we ban them or we make space for them (and keep them there) para walang magha-halo sa daan. Nakaka-inis talaga minsan, hindi sila tumatabi.

Ako malakas at tuloy-tuloy na busina lang ang katapat niyan kasabay ng tutok para tumabi. Madami kasing ignorant sa traffic rules specially those motorcycles drivers who you described above.

May 18th, 2003 04:11 PM #5magkaiba ang motorbike at mga tricycle...
i believe that motorbikes have the same rights on the road as do 4 wheeled vehicles... they should be staying on the middle of the lane and not just keep in between lanes... this way.. it's much safer for everyone concerned..
pero ibang usapan naman yung mga tricycle... kaya nga pinagbabawal sila (by written law/ordinance) sa mga major roads because they're slow moving.. although hindi naman maimplement dahil maraming kumikita sa mga tricycle...
it's just too bad that a lot of drivers (of 4 wheeled vehicles and of motorbikes whether it be private or public use) do not know these things...
which points to our system of driver licensing...

May 19th, 2003 09:48 AM #6What I'm talking about here are the slow-moving motorbikes (more like "glorified" bicycles), that hog the fast lane on a two-lane national highway... Yung mga kotse at jeeps pa ang dapat mag-swerve sa slow lane para maka-overtake (which is more dangerous for "regular" motorists like us).
Ang hilig pa nila mag-angkas ng dalawa (total passengers in one motorbike: 3) minsan may bata pang karga yung naka-angkas! And do I need to mention that most of then does not even wear a helmet????
One time nga dadalin ko camera ko at kukunan ko yung mga bwiset na yun...

May 27th, 2003 05:09 PM #8Going to Laguna naman via the Antipolo Rizal route usong uso ang mga scooter gangs. Groups of 10-30 scooters hogging the roads like swarms of insects overtaking dangerously from the left and right sabay-sabay even while rounding blind corners sa mountain roads.
Very dangerous, very irresponsible.
