Truck kills 2 in SLEX
The Philippine Star 09/23/2004
Two men whose vehicle got stalled along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) were killed yesterday when a 10-wheeler truck accidentally hit them.
The victims were pushing their Kia Ceres, with license plate TEL-210, at the center of the northbound lane of SLEX in between Alabang and Sucat exits at around 1:10 p.m. when the truck, with license plate ZNY-131, hit them.
The two died on the spot but they were still rushed to the South Super Highway Medical Center before they were brought to Vasquez Funeral Parlor.
Authorities identified one of the victims as Francisco Aguilar Jr. while his companion was not identified because investigators could not find any identification card from his body.
Prober P01 Marcelino Peralta said the truck’s driver, identified as Romadee Briones, 28, of Pacific Concrete Products Company, was still in a state of shock and could not give them clear statements yet. "All he could say is that he didn’t expect what happened," noted Peralta.
Briones’ companions inside the truck also sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the same hospital. — Edu Punay
