September 25th, 2013 09:59 PM #1951That is the infamous "wind myth" you are talking about.
Imagine you are standing on the sidewalk then an 18 wheeler trucker running at 80km/h passes by which creates a gust of wind. Your speed is zero km/h and weigh just like an average human adult (way lighter than a motorcycle). Tumilapon ka ba? Do you get shredded into pieces?
Now imagine the same you standing on the very same sidewalk but this time holding a 3x8 plywood horizontally then the same scenario happens.
Again, hard to believe but it's the bigger full faired motorcycles that are more susceptible to sudden wind gusts but it would still not be enough to throw them off their lane. Just a correction on the handlebars will do. As far as small motorcycles, it's almost just like slicing against the wind. Ayaw mo maniwala, try it yourself. If you are too afraid to do so, then you're better off inside your box.
Just like nung may bagyo circa 2006 ata when there were a lot of elf trucks with aluminum cabs na natumba while traversing edsa, C5 and CP Garcia in UP but no incidents for motorcycles. The more surface na binabangga ng wind, the more susceptible it is to being thrown away. That's why you'd feel the wind draft more on cars and vans, even buses but not so on motorcycles.

September 25th, 2013 10:24 PM #1953Points well taken. Just wouldnt dare to try it though on abike. Matutumba ba? Hindi naman.
Im an occasional bike rider din. I just prefer mountain trails.

September 25th, 2013 10:50 PM #1954I have speedster friends who own liter bikes back then who gave up the speed thrill because they discovered the beauty of the mountain trails, whether on a mt bike or a dual sport/offroad motorcycle. The adrenaline rush while blasting away at highways in excess of 200km/h is nothing compared to being able to do 20km/h on the trails.
A lot of them act like they own the streets.

September 26th, 2013 01:27 AM #1957Isa lang masasabi ko sa mga riders na yan. Salot sa kalye at sa bansa! Brainless riders abound now the streets of metro, kung sino pa ang nasa mali sila pa matapang. Pweh! Mga salot!

Iba talaga.
Tsaka mo sabihin dito result with video.
Ako im happy inside the box. No underbones and below sa expressway.
