What irks me is how despite being given a lane to themselves on EDSA, some motorcycle riders are still driving everywhere else.

dahil ung MMDA na nagbigay ng motorcycle lane sa edsa e wala din silbi, parang ginawa lang un para meron maipakitang project (hopefully hindi dahil sa percentage na makokolekta galing sa contractor).

The motorcycle lane is not within safety standards for motorcycle riders, di talaga ma-i-implement yan ng maayos. Kahit bus at jeep at private vehicles nasa motorcycle lane e, sabay magrereklamo kayo na patintero moves ang mga motor.

Visit other countries and see how a motorcycle lane is supposedly implemented, then look at ours, some have barricades that can be deadly, the lane is placed in dangerous zones, the lane condition is very bad in some areas, the lane change rules when making a turn is too short distance and very deadly, and most notably, it's not exclusive to motorcycles. We are actually fighting for our rights via MRO (motorcycle rights organization, look for us on FB).

Drivind/riding a vehicle requires a certain level of discipline and IQ.

Funny, but I agree with this mentality. Most drivers do get licenses the easy way, hence look at our roads, both cages and bikes are behaving like a-holes on the road :D hahaha

Tsk tsk, mga pasaway talaga ibang riders. Ang hirap mag-spread ng proper driving ethics talaga. Sa dami na ng bikers, karamihan pa di muna nag-aral magmaneho ng tama, si LTO naman benta lang ng benta ng license. Hay buhay, kaya nagmumukhang masama ang mga riders tulad namin e, dahil sa mga pasaway na yan. Pagdrive ko kotse ko at may ganyan, binubusinahan ko talaga para matuto na at sana magbago.

Heard it once sa radio from a lawyer, bale ang wisdom eh kung may disgrasya kung sino nag-introduce ng hazard sa situation, in your example eh yung motorist, yung motorist ang may responsibility to do everything to avoid accident.

Kahit jaywalking pa yung pedestrian, you have to prove to the court na you did everything to avoid the accident, di ka reckless, not over the speed limit, good vision, di mo sinadya managasa, etc. pero nasagasaan mo pa rin, abswelto ka.

Pero kung may pagkakamali ka (like speeding) kahit may pagkakamali pa yung pedestrian (jaywalking) since ikaw nagintroduce ng hazard object sa scene (the car) eh ikaw ang talo.

Hahaha... they want the lanes all to themselves pala.

Kaya nga patintero moves ang mga motors kasi nakakalat sa daan (at sidewalk). With the motorcycle lanes, one is more aware of where they are and this is added safety to both cars and bikes.

Mababawasan lang ang mga riders kung magkakaroon ng compulsary insurance para may responsibility sila sa madisgrasia nila at kung mamatay man sila sa mc dahil sa aksidente... Hindi yung wala silang financial reponsibility at puro kamot ng ulo ang aabutin mo..... DOTC buksan ninyo ang utak ninyo... Dapat i-require sa mga mc ang life and accident insurance... Hindi lang ang helmet ang sagot. Hindi ba Sir Abaya?

When you ask for something like this, then it should also be implemented on cars and other cage type vehicle drivers. Bilang rider at bilang cage-driver, masakit ata sa bulsa yan. Siguro mayaman ka at kaya mo, so ibig sabihin sa mayaman na lang ang kalsada na binuo sa taxes ng lahat ng mamamayan?

Ay taxes, nawala pala 10B, tinakbo nina Napoles.
