very useful indeed ang 3rd brake light. Bagay ito dun sa mga drivers ni di man lang tsine-check if their tail/stop bulbs are working, some didn't know na dapat when they replace these bulbs dapat sabihin sa suking auto supply na "double" yung ilaw. Sa gabi kasi its hard to distinguish when the vehicle in front of you is stopping because naka-on kasi ang tail lights kaya this 3rd lamp talagang very useful. Nag-DIY nga ako dun sa mga vehicles namin who doesn't have one.

well, reputable mechanics/electricians should know whether the bulbs they need to put in are "single contact" or "double contact".

I agree that the 3rd brake light is very important in the avoidance of rear-end collisions. Almost all newer model vehicles are already equipped with this.

Medyo OA kasi yung local units. Those taillamps are supposed to be installed in markets where the body mounted taillamps do not meet government regulations because of the external spare tire (some markets, like Oz, dictate that both taillamps should be visible even when the vehicle is viewed from an angle, not possible with the external spare).

On foreign units with bumper mounted lamps, the body lamps function only as rear foglamps + reverse lamps. They do not function as tail/brake lamps.

I saw an Innova G this morning with 4th brake light on its rear step gear. It's breaklights are in diamond formation.

It's just sad to know that there are car owners/drivers who disregard safety by not fixing their busted light/s.

Or who disregard safety and confuse other motorists by rewiring their tail lights or by replacing them with lenses of other colors.
