Based on QC traffic police, most accidents happen on SUNDAYS and early morning hours (between 1:00am to 6:00 am). The reason is most people would either let their normal defensive driving skills get turned "off" during time when traffic is lower than normal.

Personally, I never assume any intersection would be free of cars crossing it. I have seen enough accidents to prove it is best to assume the worst, where at each intersection would have an asshole driver crossing against the lights.

Usually in cases of an accident I ask for the driver's license of whoever was driving the taxi, jeepney, truck, etc. and will only give it back at the police station. Its an extra incentive for the driver to show up. BUT be careful, some of them have become wise to thisby having a FAKE driver's license ready to give to you (assuming with fake details on it). So better check it well if it's legit or not. Relatively easy to see if it's fake or not by the quality since fake ones are blurry especailly in the 3D barcode area and simply laminated together with no hologram on it's front part.
