that intersection has always been like that eversince the skyway was built. I remember my family used to visit kamayan resto along pasay rd. hundreds of years ago and the roads were wider then going towards the superhighway. Well aside from the bottlenecking condition, it has given birth to more problems like puv's habit of loading and unloading, horrendous road condition, occassional road construction, floods are deeper, etc.
head towards the Arnaiz side parking entrance of Waltermart during rush hours and you'll have quite a bit of an adventure. your usual road laws posted or unposted are inapplicable on that intersection. therefore to maintain a smooth flow when authorities aren't present (rarely they are) is to just proceed with caution and stay within your lane. gridlock often occur when vehicles change lanes during a turn. from my experience, stopping bec of the red light often holds up the traffic rearwards as far as the intersection leading towards plaza fair's parking lot. I hate this style but until them traffic boys around the area do their fre*kin job, it's better this way under these circumstances. where's superman when you need him...

Damn! Nahuli ako dyan last year and it was a Sunday at that. Was approaching that intersection coming from Pasong Tamo then I saw the light is red (stop). So naturally I stopped. But then sobrang tagal na nakastop kaya I made a left turn na to Pasay Road. Meron palang MAPSA dun (actually di sila MAPSA, naka gray sila) na nag-aabang. I really do believe this intersection is a huli-trap talaga.

Pag ang stop light ay hindi right arrow, at walang sign na stop on red signal, puwedeng mag right basta full stop muna, check for pedestrians and those with right of way (naka-go sa lane nila). Ilang beses na akong nakipag-talo sa humuli sa akin.
And as it turns out, thanks to the Internet, it is clearly defined in http://www.lto.gov.ph/traffic1.html.
