If this is the case then let's get rid of sidewalks, pedestrian crossings and overpasses and walkways. The point here is that there should be order. Kaya tayo bumubusina ng matagal is to let the pedestrian know that it would be impossible to stop or avoid them at the speed we are at. I wouldn't have second thoughts of leaving that "addict" if I hit him. I'm probably doing society a favor by getting rid of him.

What Motorists Should Know About Pedestrian Rights
    Yield to Pedestrians

When you meet a pedestrian, who has the right of way? Motorists must yield to pedestrians in the street at all times. Yielding means slowing down for pedestrians who are crossing the street and passing them at a safe distance. Show courtesy by giving pedestrians as much room as you would like drivers to give to you when you're on foot.

    Respect Crosswalks

    * Yield to pedestrians at all crosswalks-marked and unmarked.
    * Know where all crosswalks are. Crosswalks exist on all four corners of most intersections in Boulder-whether or not they are marked.
    * Crosswalks are also located wherever paths and streets connect. Paths and streets that are parallel to each other require extra caution. Look for pedestrians, cyclists, and skaters from unexpected directions.

    Intersections With Signals

    * Yield to pedestrians crossing the intersection.
    * Do not stop in the crosswalk. Instead, stop behind the stop bar so that pedestrians can cross the street safely.
    * Obey signage. Many intersections in Boulder's downtown prohibit right turn on red.
    * When turning right on red, stop for pedestrians who are crossing from either side of the street.
    * When turning left, watch for pedestrians as well as oncoming traffic.

    Intersections Without Signals

    * At intersections without signals, pedestrians always have the right of way.
    * When pedestrians show an intention to cross the street by stepping off the curb, you must stop and allow them to cross.
    * When turning right or left at an intersection without a signal, look for pedestrians crossing from any direction before you start your turn.

    Safety Tips

    * At night or during bad weather, be especially alert for pedestrians. Remember that people on foot are exposed to the weather and may be in a hurry to find shelter.
    * Before you pull out of a driveway, parking lot, or garage you must stop behind the sidewalk and check for pedestrians who might be using the sidewalk.

    You're A Pedestrian Too.

A little courtesy goes along way. Remember what it's like to be on foot, and how much you appreciate it when a motorist yields to you.

They think nakikita sila ng motorist.

pre what I'm quoting is from a handbook on how to drive in Pinas. And it clearly states there that even if the pedestrian is out of his way we should always give courtesy to them.

A corteous driver practices only 1 or 2 beeps to warn any living thing to get out of the road but beeping for long is a sign of anger ang agression which is a no no if a driver practices road courtesy.

tinanong ng tito ko kay angelito vergel de dios tungkol sa nangyar sa akin kahapon... mas malakas daw ako kung magfafile ako ng case.... first and foremost, according to the mmda, the streets and roads are not the right-of-way of the pedestrians.. second, sa don antonio road malaki ang sidewalk kasya 3 persons... kaya nga may wet flag campaign ang mmda para madisiplina mga pedestrians na wag gamitin ang mga kalsada sa paglalakad maliban sa pagtawid.... yung tito ko na PD ng mindoro also said na hindi ako matatalo kasi nasa right-of-way ako... tsaka ang busina ko is beep-beeeep!! one short and one 5 sec long syempre ako na young driver pa lang natatakot na mabangga i did honk my horn and step on the brakes really hard....
