Oh yeah, the beggar is reaching inside the vehicle. He hasn't done any damage. Yet. It only takes a split second for him to snatch something and run away. It only takes a split second for him to get angry for the wrong reasons, smash your lights/dent your car and run away. It only takes a second for him to suddenly open the door, board the vehicle and rob the people in it with a knife.

    Would you really risk it?

You argue that he hasn't done anything yet, but I argue: Can you predict what they do next? If they do something, what would you do? Pagbigyan lang sila? And let them think that since people are willing to look it over due to "pity for them", then it's ok to keep on doing it? Then next time, they will become more brazen and "upgrade" their antics into more serious ones?

No, we are not thinking like criminals. We've just seen our share of sh*t in this world to have some sense and logic to protect ourselves. Everyone is equal. We have our rights, they have theirs. If they step on our rights, responsibility is theirs, not ours.

Human emotions are weapons being used by these animals. Give pity where it's due, not those who abuse it. For every "poor" like this on the road, there are also others who are also poor but yet work hard, have the correct attitude and give basic respect to others. *Those* are the ones deserving of pity and help.

Parents are responsible. Why bring up the government? The government isn't your saving grace. Ito yun pangit sa mga ibang Filipinos, they think they are entitled to something. The government isn't responsible for your actions. Your guardian, in this case, your parents are.

I disagree with the punching but the poster said that he was fed up and these cases happen. I'd say the kid was lucky the guy he was pestering wasn't out to kill. As for yun bata ako, sinuntok ba ako ng magulang ko yun makulit ako? Yes he did. It's a form of discipline. There's a difference between leniency and discipline. People that overstep their bounds within the law should be put down. Being a child doesn't entitle you to rights to abuse. The kid was shouting and was obviously agitated. What if he has a weapon? Would you trust the judgement of an agitated person?

The DSWD's objective is to "To develop, implement and coordinate social protection and poverty reduction solutions for and with the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged." Is enforcement part of their job? Hardly. Burden of discipline lies within the parent. If wala na yun magulang, then you're responsible for yourself. As a person (whether child or adult), if I crossed a speeding highway and died.. sino sisisihin mo? Yun government? *face palm*

Shared responsibility doesn't mean absolute responsibility. You can curb people but you can't stop them. Look at your daily commuters, meron na nga sign "WAG PO TUMAWID MAY NAMATAY NA DITO" eh tatawid parin. If they died, will you blame the government? Shared responsibility ba yun?

I find the whole debate funny. But it all boils down to just one thing: Being a kid doesn't entitle you to anything. In fact the DSWD is pretty much lenient in withholding the names of minors who committed a crime for hopes of reform. I'm not looking down on the poor but the poor has their own responsibilities to carry. If their children runs amok in the metropolis, that isn't my responsibility nor the government. In fact, they should be pretty grateful we pay taxes to help them but if they scratch your car, bang your windows, and shout **** at you.. ibang usapan na yan
