    Bayani's legacy- the abomination C-5 U-turn slot...



    Dear, Top Gear PH. I just want to share this photo taken a while ago on the elevated U-turn slot at C5 Kalayaan. It took this truck 30 minutes to make a the turn! Jeez! Do authorities really allow long and huge vehicles to pass through this elevated U-turn? It caused a massive traffic jam.

    Pasikat kasi si Bayani kaya pinilit niya yang elevated uturn. The project was supposed to be an interchange i.e. C5-Kalayaan Avenue Interchange. He had it cancelled tas nagpasikat kay pandak kesyo daw mas makakamura kapag elevated uturn na lang. Hayan mura nga, ineffective naman at napakapangit. Lahat ng binuksan niyang uturn dati unti unti nang sinasara ngayon dahil di naman talaga effective as traffic intervention.

    along quezon ave (fisher mall to welcome rotonda stretch) u-turn slots are pretty effective. nae-eliminate nito yung mga kups na kahit barahan ang intersection (basta green light) ay okay lang sa kanila kasi green daw kahit abutin ng red and eventually green again sa gitna ng intersection.

    sa edsa effective din naman compared sa multiple stoplights. on ordinary rush hour mas okay pa sa edsa kesa manila roads dahil walang stoplight sa edsa (except under flyovers and overpasses).

    pinoy drivers are just too "malikhain" and "maabilidad" kuno, gagawa at gagawa ng paraan makalamang lang sa kalsada.

    Only effective until a certain saturation point. It also encourages swerving in a uturn area. Effective lang yan sa maluluwag na kalsada like Commonwealth.

    haba naman kasi ng trailer na yun. malamang yan beer ang hinahakot. pansinin nyo yung mga trailers ng san miguel beer, may 60 feet na yata ang haba ng bed ng yun. wala bang restrictions sa haba ng trailers?

    may positive effect yang uturns. Yung uturns sa congressional cor mindanao temporarily sinara at pwede na ulit magleft turn sa intersection. Resulta sobrang traffic. binalik yung Uturn

    Katipunan uturns I think is also effective. subukan nyong isara yan at sigurado traffic din

    Pati na rin yung uturn sa edsa quezon avenue yung sa Centris, sinara yan temporarily ayun traffic. kaya bukas ulit

    Hindi sa pinagtatanggol ko si Bayani pero marami syang nagawa na natuwa ako (eg. vendors). Pero marami ring palpak katulad nyang elevated uturn. Pero still I think mas marami syang positve na nagawa over failed projects.

    Kumpara lang sa MMDA chairman ngayon na hindi ko maramdaman ang nagawa o kung may nagawa man lang ba.

    Pareho lang sila. Ung problems na dinatnan niya hanggang sa iniwan niya, yan padin ang problems ngayon.

    Malayong mas gusto ko naman ngayon kaysa sa panahon ni Bayani na basta gusto niya, gusto niya, ayaw makinig ng suggestion.

    Punuin ba naman ng pink fences, pink sign boards ang Metro Manila na sobrang pangit ang ichura and hindi manlang papasa sa international standards.

    Then I recalled those U turn slots along Commonwealth Avenue na susulpot nalang na parang mushroom. Para bang pag nagising si Bayani and parang gusto niyang magpagawa ng U turn slot, gagawin niya kahit wala manlang study kung ayos, sabay wawasakin pag hindi effective. Like the biggest and most useless U turn slot na pinagawa niya malapit sa Batasan. Napakali wala naman palang gamit hanggang naging pool na and bahayan ng wrigglers. Ang solution tinambakan ng lupa and tinaniman. Ngayon winarak na.

    yung sa katipunan, pinabuksan ng Ateneo yan para di mahirapan estudyante nila. sinara na nila yung nasa tapat ng Jollibee dati.

    sa C5 NB, ang cause ng traffic yung 2 lane bridge over pasig river and pasig blvd.
