Hence, chicken and egg story.

x2 on this; its not too expensive to buy from a dealer AFAIK. I remember someone who lost his Nissan center cap and it was even cheaper in the dealer then in Banawe (kapatid ata ni Otep if i recall correctly).
My cousin lost his Patrol mirrors with the signal indicator and he got a replacement set from a third part seller/importer at a reasonable price.

Our Ford Expedition with etched mirrors was also victimized. That's why we had it fitted with theft deterrent mirror guards. Not fool proof but at least the thief will think twice.
Our Expedition was parked in between a Pajero and Land Cruiser fitted with mirror guards so I guess that's why the thief went for the Exped.
Bad trip, even the 'surplus' Banawe mirrors are expensive.

My monty's side mirrors are also etched (Perfectly done at BB Araneta) but when it rains, dun ako kinakabahan because hindi visible eh. Also, i never retract my side mirrors when parked outside para mas kita nila

August 10th, 2010 01:04 PM #20Nakita ko yung process nila.. what they do, particularly in Big Bert's is they make stencil of the plate number. They then stick the stencil on the side mirror then pinapahidan nila ng parang acid type na solution na magpapalabo nung part na yun ng salamin then pinapatuyo. Pagka alis nung stencil, naka lagay na sa side mirror yung plate number mo.
