won't wonder how the mmda get the flak for the mammoth traffic around metmla and surrounding suburbs but most blame should be directed towards the quick urban sprawl of new settlements and i mean that's 2.5 million since 2003 to a whopping 11.8 million as of 2010 (wiki). new homes can be accommodated skyward to accommodate the expansion but its impact on the existing road and transport infrastructure may be the major reason why no matter what mmda does with its limited know-how managing dispersed slum, industrial, residential areas, and even garbage disposal may be too much for these 'experts'. i've been stuck in mumbai traffic and in a roma traffico (mama mia!) and the reasons are just as varied and complex. but removing 10 year old autos may bring a slight relief up until a new wave of people migrate to these places. i say control/manage migration and possibly you may solve related underlying problems
