    1. During the accident, take pictures, It will help a lot if there is no Traffic enforcer present.

    2. Be sure to go to the nearest police station or if in any case, there was policemen present, then just follow them to their precinct.

    3. There, write your statement and info about the accident, provide the necessary legal documents like your OR/CR of the vehicle you were driving during the accident, Your license with it's OR too. That should do it.

    4. Call your insurance company immediately if ever you're insured. The faster the better, since processing is usually long.

    5. If ever your vehicle is b/new or at least 2-3 years old, make sure it goes to casa, at least you get original parts

Good luck with the wait, and hope the wound of your car and the scar to your heart (from the accident ) heal soon!

I was told during a driving seminar before that if there is no traffic enforcer or cop handling the situation that you, as a party to the accident, can make a sketch of the accident, indicating the position of the vehicles relative to the road. It's just quite a basic sketch, and it might even turn out to be better than that made by an enforcer. Hehe! If you can get the other party to sign the sketch, then that would help facilitate processing of the police report. Then again, that would depend on the other party, especially if you're the aggrieved one. Hehe!

As regards pictures, well that's another story, according to the same instructor. Somehow, you can manipulate the POV of some pics relative to the road, to make it look like one party is guilty whereinfact, he's the aggrieved party. Anyways, perhaps pictures giving a better overview account of the incident will help in the investigation.

Oh, most importantly, don't move the cars involved in the incident, until a sketch can be made by an enforcer and/or pix can be taken. In the interest of the motoring public not a party to the incident, it would be best if you got your cars out of the way immediately, however, by doing so without the proper documentation/recording of the incident, you, as the aggrieved party could lose the opportunity to run after the other party. Pwede niyang ibahin yung kwento, or he can get away on a technicality.

How about the settlement of payment? If car A is not insured and assuming that car B made a mistake that caused the accident, should the owner of car B be held liable for the damage cost?

aside from those mentioned above, keep your cool, don't curse or say bad words, do not lift your voice (wag mataas ng boses). be as civil as possible.

In areas where there are traffic enforcers investigators who are available (alam nila kung saan madalas may aksidente), hindi ka mahihirapang maghintay but in other remote areas, its nice to have a set of pen and bond paper in your car comes in handy in case you have to draw a sketch yourself on the vehicle positions in relation to the street/road.
In the insurance policy copy, there are ready sheets available that you can fill up. As long as the sketch is accurately done, there might be little resistance on the part of the other party involved to sign it IMHO.

S.O.P if hit by a car or you hit a car??
