I agree with ILD. Our first teachers our are parents, so good parenting plays a big role in the development of a child. However, it is also possible that a good number of these kids don't have parents or don't know where their parents are, just like what we found out in some of our wards in the project that I mentioned on an earlier post. Because there is nobody to give them proper directions, they go their...peers. When this happens, instead of these kids amounting to something they could end up amounting to nothing.

hmmm daming ganyan, sa may cubao area naman, nung nag cocommute pa ako usually naman "mga bayarang babae" doing it in the streets, but at least may kumot silang pantakip.

kung kids yan, i hafta agree, yung iba bumabalik sa bisyo. I grew up seeing lots of them sa cubao kase ako nag aral kahit anong reach out ang gawin. kaso to be fair to those na may chance na magbago a little help goes a long way. Daming ngo's ang tumutulong sa kanila. problema lang eh kulang ang budget ng mga ngo's.

To be fair, some of these kids come from broken homes, were abused and/or molested by their very own parents or next of kin. Usually they have no family members nearby to run to, so they take to the streets.

Pero hindi din basta-basta donations ang solusyon. The first step is getting them off the streets, where society can be a threat to them as much as they pose a danger to society. Law enforcers should be more vigilant in transferring these kids to the proper institutions. Pag nasa custody na sila ng mga institutions na ito, dun na papasok yung worth ng mga donations (financial or otherwise).

Overpopulation = No Progress. And does our government educate and promote family planning? No... because of the Catholic Church. Natural Method my A$$.

i'm not the MMDA's biggest fan, pero ung MMDA na nakita mo, baka nangalanganin din kasi outnumbered na, unpredictable pa ang mga yan. but he could've radioed/called for help though.

Should have. Last I heard, public *** is STILL illegal in Manila. Dapat tinawagan na ang DSWD doon.
