Hindi naman lahat bro. Please don't generalized them. Tulong lang ang kailangan nila. If you can't help personally why don't you give your financial supports to some ngo-groups who help them.

Pwede po mag sponsor ng education of a kid for as low as P500/month.

Yung dati kong boss... may sponsored na kid from childhood till now. May mga letters nga na pinapadala sa kanya and pictures (kasama yung mga shoes / dresses na binili from her donation).

We had a project in the past where we had helped street kids go to NGOs that help street kinds find a "home". A couple of years later, we were surprised that more than half of them went back to being street kids.

hindi lahat, pero mostly nga yan ang problema, temporary lng mostly ang improvement nila. i would help if there is some assurance that they would really improve and make something of themselves. pero kng babalik din sa dati, id tell myself im wasting my time.

Kung ikaw kaya sa loob nang car mo gawin tapos bukas yung window di ka kaya sitahin nun kasi may makukuha sya syo dun wala.

Takot din sya baka balikan sya nung mga yun.

The NGO that am currently have a consultancy engagement for has these type of programs, but it is usually tied up with our peace and development work in Mindanao and in SEA countries that were ravaged by war. If I'm mistaken, our organization has donated lots of resources in the past to government agencies but were mis-used, and this is the reason why we had temporarily stopped the funding.

It's hard not to generalize in this case. It's their way of life, even if you give them a job more often than not they're gonna loose it one way or another why? Because they don't have any sense of responsibility, direction, common sense, they don't know what is right and wrong which comes with education and good parenting.

To be fair, some of these kids come from broken homes, were abused and/or molested by their very own parents or next of kin. Usually they have no family members nearby to run to, so they take to the streets.

Pero hindi din basta-basta donations ang solusyon. The first step is getting them off the streets, where society can be a threat to them as much as they pose a danger to society. Law enforcers should be more vigilant in transferring these kids to the proper institutions. Pag nasa custody na sila ng mga institutions na ito, dun na papasok yung worth ng mga donations (financial or otherwise).

I agree with ILD. Our first teachers our are parents, so good parenting plays a big role in the development of a child. However, it is also possible that a good number of these kids don't have parents or don't know where their parents are, just like what we found out in some of our wards in the project that I mentioned on an earlier post. Because there is nobody to give them proper directions, they go their...peers. When this happens, instead of these kids amounting to something they could end up amounting to nothing.

hmmm daming ganyan, sa may cubao area naman, nung nag cocommute pa ako usually naman "mga bayarang babae" doing it in the streets, but at least may kumot silang pantakip.

kung kids yan, i hafta agree, yung iba bumabalik sa bisyo. I grew up seeing lots of them sa cubao kase ako nag aral kahit anong reach out ang gawin. kaso to be fair to those na may chance na magbago a little help goes a long way. Daming ngo's ang tumutulong sa kanila. problema lang eh kulang ang budget ng mga ngo's.

Overpopulation = No Progress. And does our government educate and promote family planning? No... because of the Catholic Church. Natural Method my A$$.
