fine, you parked in a non-major street, you didn't park correctly (hindi shoot sa box), you went over the limit of 3 hours in the street parking etc., but why the hell, do they even still need to tow a functioning vehicle, kahit andyan na yung driver...

at yung kulang na lang eh "suhol na lang kaysa ituloy pa naming hatakin itong auto mo" style nung mga nagtotow.

just expressing my grief.

just days ago, early in the morning, 10 mins before 7 am (the time i know towing operations starts) muntik na kong mahatak. actually isang mahabang row kami ng mga sasakyan ang nahuthutan tinakot na hatakin. 1k damage.

fyi for all tsikoteers (extended my effort to trace the owner of the towing truck) the truck that was assigned na huhutan ako/ i-tow ako:

May nakakaalam ba from Makati na city ordinance ito? As what I know, pag lumampas ka ng 3 hours, eh charge ka extra fee sa parking...About the "you didn't park correctly", parang hindi kapani paniwala eh... Yong mga nag iissue ng ticket sa parking, di ba ina assist nila ang mga mag papark sa gilid ng kalsada?

If this tow service, tow your car then you have the rights to file a complaint...


Pero kung nag park ka in the evening till morning next day then you have to move your car before 7 am...

2 hours parking lang.. tapos 1 hour extension lang.. 35.00 for 2 hours then another 35.00 for the 3rd hour.. pag sumobra ka don.. either you move your vehicle or i to tow na nila.. mabibilis pa naman yung mga yun..

Mabilis kasi meron radio between the parking attendant and the tow trucks.

Mga kupal talaga traffic official diyan sa Makati. Mahirap na mag park, traffic lagi, number coding the whole day, tow ka pa nila pag natiyempuhan. Makati is not a motorist friendly city.

Yup. There are a lot of parking buildings located in the Makati CBD area. So finding a parking space is not really a problem. Just that it is more expensive than other places around the metro.

safe pa rin magpark sa loob ng mga buildings or malls ... strict sila sa street parking... kung wala ka within the box, tow ka... saw 1 brand new Montero na nahatak dahil nakalabas sa box... mabubwisit ka lang talaga sa mga dilapidated tow trucks nila... kawawa lang oto mo pag na-tow nila...

dito sa street namin masarap panoorin yang mga ganyan.. araw araw may hinahatak.. minsan may murahan pa.. pag babae naman driver.. minsan iyakan blues pa.. tapos ang modus nila dyan.. pag inabutan mo na hinahatak yung oto mo.. pwede paki usapan.. imbes na 1,500 pag tinubos.. 500 na lang wala nga lang resibo.. pero hahatakin pa din nila.. tapos don sa kabilang kanto pag hindi na kita.. tsaka ibababa..

I don't know... Parang agree ako sa style nila sa Makati.

First of all, alam nating lahat na sobrang traffic dito lalo na pag umaga so they're imposing the "No parking from 7am-10am" very strictly, ang dami pa rin makukulit na nagpapark sa mga gilid... kawawa naman yung mga nagmamadali kasi nababawasan ng madadaaan na kalsada. What's more, think of the cars who would have to merge sa kabilang street just because your car is blocking the street he's on. Nakupo... katakot-takot na gitgitan ang mangyayari dahil usually ayaw magpasingit ng mga nasa hindi blocked na street.

Second, yung lumalampas sa painted slot ng parking. May mga selfish car owners kasi na gusto maluwang sa kanila para madaling lumabas. E paano naman yung ibang kotse? Di yung nasakop natin na next slot di na magagamit o kung may nangangailangan talagang magpark di kailangan siksikin nya nang husto yung sasakyan nya para lang magkasya? Di ba kawawa naman sila? Tapos pag sinundan tayo ng nasa likod mo na sasakyan at lalampas din sya sa line, di gugulo na yung parking hanggang sa dulo. Bottom line is, you'd be blocking one parking slot, rendering it unusable.

Third, about the strictness in the alloted time: di ba hindi naman nila kasalanan yun? Tayo nga yung di sumusunod sa rules e. Usapan three hours lang tapos pag lumampas tayo at na-tow, galit tayo? E paano naman yung mga gusto ring magpark, bahala sila sa buhay nila? Kung mukhang di lang 3 hours yung lalakarin natin, di maghanap tayo ng pay parking na walang time limit.

Fourth, about the P500 "suhol". Tama, di nga dapat ina-allow yan. Dapat pag napwestuhan ka na at kinakabit na yung mga harness(?), diretso impounding area na yun. Doon mo na lang kunin. Now, some people plead with the operator, kaya naawa yung nagtotow at sabi, "Sige miss, P500 na lang pero sa kabilang street na natin tanggalin dahil nakita na nilang kinakabit namin e." Di ba it's advantageous to both parties? They get to earn something and you avoid the hassle of paying P1,500 tapos pipila ka pa sa impounding area para tubusin yung sasakyan mo, wasting your money as well as your time? Ano ang mas gusto natin? Hindi ko kasi maintindihan, pinagbigyan na nga tayo magrereklamo pa.

Tama si nickriingen, mahirap magpark sa makati at traffic pa lagi. Pag sasabayan pa natin ng mga lampas sa slot ang pagpark, park nang park kahit di pa oras ng pagpark, ayaw ibigay yung slot nila sa ibang gustong magpark kahit lampas na sila sa alloted time-- it would worsen the traffic as well as the difficulty in parking problems, di ba?

Hindi po ako member ng parking authrority, hindi din ako MMDA. I do work at Makati kaya limang taon ko na nararamdaman ang problema na to. Five years na kong nagpapark sa Makati Med and its sorrounding areas. Minsan I'm forced to park on these side streets but when I do, I always make sure I'm following even their smallest rules. Ayokong maging part ng problema.

What irritates me is: galit tayo sa traffic at sa hirap ng pagpark; galit din tayo sa solution. Can you suggest a better way of doing things?

I don't think that's the point. Said driver would just have to look at his rearview mirrow to see the line of cars who're suddenly trapped in that lane he's blocking and which would have to go through the difficulty of merging to the other lane.

I've experienced this lots of times. Minsan nga sinumbong ko pa sa MMDA yung isang nakapark at naghahazard dun e. SAbi ng MMDA may hinihintay lang daw yung driver na kasama nya nasa medical plaza. Sabi ko e di paikot-ikot na lang muna sya sa amorsolo at adelantado, wala pa syang naiistorbo.

Di po ba? Bakit natin iistorbohin yung ibang motorista para lang mas convenient sa atin?

Ilang beses na din nangyari yan, bawal pa magpark and we have to go to one of the ATMs to withdraw some money. I tell my wife iikot na lang ako.

well said praetor91313. rules are rules nga naman. siguro may parking attendant doon. at kung hindi ka mahanap, syempre tow na yan. hirap nga magpark dyan sa streets. kawawa din yung ibang nagaantay makagamit nung slot.

* praetor91313: i have to agree with you. I am also working at makati and it seems that the solution of the local government may be harsh to others but I think its for the common good of all. Mahirap din ayusin ang traffic sa makati dahil central business district siya. The coding scheme also helps ease the traffic there. Pag may window time dun, for sure, super traffic!

ok lang yung i tow.. kasalanan naman talaga nung car owner.. sana lang ayusin nila yung pag tow.. hindi yung basta hahatakin na lang na walang pakundangan kahit manual or automatic yung sasakyan or kahit mayupi yung pang ilalim..

nakita ko na rin to sa may likod ng BCT. delivery boy ng jollibee nagpark sandali ng motor sa likod. umalis na siya para ihatid yung food. after few mins nakita ko na agad na pumuwesto yung tow truck para hatakin yung motor. since nakita nung guard tinawag niya yung delivery boy. dumating naman agad yung driver at hindi pa naman nakukuha yung motor. lumapit siya para sabihin na aalisin na siya then sabi nung nagtow na hindi na raw pwede. wtf! mga hinayupak talaga yun. kung may powers lang ako pinasabog ko na yung tow truck na yun. hehe

I read an article some time ago that a tow truck cannot tow a vehicle once the vehicle driver is there and available to start and move the vehicle. It is grounds for carnapping. Can anyone verify please? If I remember correctly, the article was written in a newspaper as a question and a columnist sought the comments of an LTO authority on the matter.
