Its basically because people just prefer to bring their business elsewhere. No more energy to file a complaint.

Hehe. Nice observation on the "display cars".

Either show cars or hindi na naalis dun kase laging may mas malaking problema "kuno" na nakita sa oto nila. Ika nga e napasubo na may-ari kase gumastos na e.

Meron pala ganitong thread.hehe. Had my share of rapide horror story way back then with my first car.
Share ko, just for the record. Dahil newbie sa car noon, dun ako pa change oil dahil promo me free check up. Nakahinga maluwag.
After a month, di pa nadala baka kako nagkamali lang sila. pumunta ulit ako for tune up naman. Antagal sinerbisan, nung pinaandar palyado na makina. Sabi timing chain na problema, me quote kagad.
And since then, Never been to rapide again!

I'm glad I found this thread. Today, I availed of the free check-up at the Rapide branch on Ortigas Ext near Ever Supermarket, and here's why:

Since last year, I've had lots of repairs done on my Toyota Corolla 1998 by freelance mechanics or sa talyer. My car's major problems were overheating, and a busted aircon.

However, I admit na WALA akong alam with fixing cars, so I'm always worried na lolokohin ako with cheap repairs.

Since Rapide looks big and professional, I wanted their EXPERT opinion on my recent repairs. And true enough, some of the cheap repairs were sloppy (e.g. the temperature sensor is bypassed!). Also, I remember an electrical shop once tried to charge me P2,500 to fix my wiper motor, then someone pointed out that it was simply not connected. GRRRRRR!!!!!

I'll skip the other horrific details, but my question is: since Rapide is severely overpriced, and many small-time talyers are unreliable, does Tsikot.com have a list of recommended auto-shops around Pasig? I've tried back-reading, but no luck so far.

    Any help guys?

You might be referring to the "white list" shop?

Try asking the casa how much the hinges are. They sometimes have clearance sales on small parts like this. The install is straightforward if you use a new hinge.
