yung police station na yan eh para sa traffic incidents lang daw .. like kung may nagbanggaan .. ayan ang unang pinuntahan namin ng dad ko .. tulog yung bantay .. nung nagising (eventually) .. sabi niya hindi raw nila sakop yung carnapping .. report daw kami doon sa station sa may talipapa sa novaliches .. in fairness .. yun din sabi nung sumagot sa amin nung nagdial kami nung police hotline .. inisip lang namin bakit pa kami lalayo eh may pulis naman diyan sa may short horn .. yun nga lang .. mga isang oras namin nahanap yung station dahil under construction yung harap nila so walang police sign .. lang hiya ka .. pinapaalala mo yung mga bad memories ko .. hehe .. joke lang .. i can joke about it now ..

otep, its better to just give the vehicle to the carjackers.....a vehicle even if it is a Ferrrari is NOT worth a person's life.....having a firearm in your car and using it against carjackers might scare some amateur carjackers but not the professional ones

mrpink, it is nice to hear nothing happened to you......you could always buy a new vehicle but you can never buy mobility when a bullet hit you in the spinalcord or skull.....

fellow tsikoters, its not worth it to fight for your vehicles when a gun is poked at you.....

From a legal standpoint, that wouldn't be a good idea because the criminals would already be fleeing at that point and would no longer present an immediate threat to your life. You could be thrown in jail if the relatives of the poor, misguided "victims of society" that you shot while their backs were turned could prove that you were no longer acting in self-defense.

I personally would not engage crooks with high-powered firearms if I was only armed with a pistol. I'd rather ram them with my van as they are stepping out of their vehicle. Subukan pa nilang magaputok habang dinudurog ang mga buto nila ng 2,000-pounds of Korean steel :fire:

Admittedly, the issue of self-defense is a very personal one and I respect the opinions of other posters who would rather comply than risk death. However, I personally would rather live with my head unbowed and travel freely in this country that I love, and if that means that I have to fight some SOBs who have no compunction about taking my life, then doom on them.

I am not a war freak. I am just an ordinary citizen who believes that it is better to die a free man than to live in a state of constant fear and helplessness.

I went to hear mass yesterday at mt. carmel in new manila and they have bulletins about carjackings along gilmore ave. Meron kasi parishioners na carjack mga auto nila.

According to the bulletin the carjackers strike before 12 midnight so they can clear the ATM of the day's limit then withdraw again after midnight. geez, katakot na lumabas...
