IMO - the carnap statistics for the Philippines isn't that alarming.
Medyo stable / slight downtrend pa nga ang carnapping incidents.

September 14th, 2005 04:27 PM #35since na victim na ako before .. the precautions that i now take .. pag-madaling araw (which i rarely do now, since i got married) .. hindi na ako nag-sh-short cut .. i go for well lighted high volume roads .. yung mga tipong jeep route or bus route .. usually hindi naman ma-traffik kung madaling araw .. kahit long way .. just to be safe .. hindi naman mauubos money mo sa atm .. bpi na ata has the highest max withdrawal at 30K .. so liveable .. i only bring 2 credit cards .. my gas card and my regular card .. yung high card limits ko i leave at home since i hardly use them in manila anyways .. bare yung kotse ko of personal belongings .. dati ginagawa kong bahay .. ngayon .. i bring down everything that i don't need in the car .. i make sure my windows are closed .. if i want fresh air para tipid sa gas .. i don't open it fully .. i make sure my doors are locked .. i don't believe in firearms .. but i have pepper spray just in case confronted with physical violence lang .. and i always say a prayer before i drive out for a safe journey ..

kung yun steel railings nga sa mga flyovers na-u-ubos sa gabi. pansin ko dun sa Ayala interchange ubos na. yun sa may Rockwell sinisimulan na tanggalin. and yun sa galeria from north edsa, sisinisimulan sa gitna.
if they can do this on an open road, steel robbers lang ito na nde napapansin, what more yun mga carjackers with hi-powered weapons
siguro yun police presence sa gabi medyo nabawasan, kasi mahal na ang gasolina.
