MANILA - Two teams of riding-in-tandem assassins ambushed Quezon City Police District's Chief Inspector Roderick Medrano early Monday morning in Zabarte, Fairview, killing him but sparing his wife and child.
Medrano was rushed to the Bernardino Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
According to the QCPD Tactical Operations Group, Medrano was riding his green Honda Civic with his wife and child when the asassins on board two motorcycles approached them and repeatedly shot at Medrano with short firearms.
Probers are checking whether the hit on Medrano of QCPD Station 4 was tied to any of the cases he is handling.
