The argument of disclosure of being a transgender is a different point altogether.

Most transgenders (especially in cultures where it's not even an accepted reality, such as the Philippines) are wary of disclosing their true identity because of fear of ostracism and judgment.

Try putting yourselves in their shoes. Say, you're a transgender and a homo***ual - you dress, act, and look like a girl and you're attracted to guys. There's this guy who starts to like you and you get close.

At this point, I personally feel that if I were the transgender, I would have to disclose it to him in order to prevent continuing the relationship through deception. However, on the flipside, it is also possible that the transgender will not tell the truth for fear of losing the guy who won't accept her for who she really is. I think it's a cowardly and selfish thing to do, but many will do it because they fear that they'll never find someone who'll accept them if they don't. That's just the reality of it.

I understand how one can judge transgenders for that, because it's a selfish act regardless of their gender.

    And i quote

"Wala naman mali sa akin, hindi ako confused sa identity ko. BABAE AKO"

Ang bakla ay bakla. Kung pinanganak kang lalake at gusto mo maging babae ay bakla ka parin. Transgender..trans***ual or kung ano ka man ay pinanganak ka paring lalake kaya ikaw ay isang bakla.

I believe in the school of thought that home***uality is hereditary and a sort of mental issue. Pansinin mo those with gays in the family have somewhere in the family tree another homo***ual or someone with mental (depression or suicide issues) This is consistent with ALL the families I know.

It's a school of thought nga. Research on the "gay gene". Even the Economist published an article on it.

There is a possibility that the marime himself was ghey. In one of his fb pictures, his pose is a bit...."ghey".
He felt he had to kill the victim to prove to himself he is still a "man". I think most Filipinos do not understand American masculinity. IMO, American masculinity is more fragile that Filipino masculinity. American masculinity is almost defined by their "alpha-isms". If you're not alpha, you are beta or ghey. The Philippines is different. The embodiment of "proper masculinity" is be cut, be family oriented, have self control, be a gentleman, be hygienic.

That being said, I like to address the notion by some that "person of color" is a PC word. In fact, it isnt and never was. At best, it is considered antiquated. The PC term would be "minorities". Also, Black is more politically correct than "person of color". POC was used by racists in the past whereas black was used starting the civil rights movement. And the term ghey is actually a slang. I wonder if people here throwing out the term PC actually know what PC means?

There is also a possibility that this is a hate crime. Not necessarily towards gheys but towards sehks workers and people who do one night stands. Such crimes are not unheard of in the US or in the US military. Just look at the pattern of the craigslist killer (medical student). Before he killed the escort he contacted, he has been assaulting escorts or women who work in the sekhs industry. In Dongducheon in Korea in the late 90s or early 2000s sone US servicemen killed a female Korean prostitute.

It is also possible that it is about money. Ghey thought it was paid, marine thought it was free.

The word I gather is, the bar the marines went to was known to be a place to pick up ghey sehksworkers. Who looks for female sehksworkers in a ghey bar? Besides, it is no secret that the Philippines has lots of cross dressers and open gays, so I doubt it isnt in the marines' briefings

I said that. PC is Political Correctness. I stand corrected on the POC remark since I lived in the Philippines all my life. Thanks for clearing things up.

But I did give other PC terms that are correct such as Vertically challenged so I do know what it means.

I think you do not fully understand what "politically correct" actually means.

Vertically challenged at best is humor, not a PC term. PC term would be short in stature. UnPC terms would be manlet, munchkin, hobbit, short, not tall....

Just because it sounds "less crude" to your ears does not necessarily make it "politically correct". In fact, in the US, the term vertically challenged is a lot LESS PC than "short". "Vertically challenged" is not even used in the liberal academia or even lingo.

You need to research more on how these terms are used in English speaking countries especially that these terms are hardly used in the Philippines.

"Plus size" is not even really politically correct. The PC words for fat is "curvy" or voluptuous", "few extra pounds", BBW, "full figured". Plus size can be used as an insult.

To demonstrate, try saying "look at thty plus size lady" versus "look at that curvy/voluptuous" lady

Fnck that! Why can't people say what they want to say? Why is it that filipinos can say "ang taba mo na!" to a fellow filipino but need to say "you look voluptuous..." when talking to a non-filipino. Why can we not just say fat when we mean fat?

Oo nga naman. baka magka-hypertension ka pa sa kakapigil. Sabi nga, tulak nang bibig, kabig nang dibdib. Baka bumigay dibdib niyan.

BTT:Sa US ganyan kayo mag-isip, sa Pinas, pag maganda pakinggan, ompliment na yun. Kapag pangit, yun nang-aasar or nanlalait. Kapag sinabi mong PC, compute alam nila. Seriously, dami lang talaga taong balat-sibuyas.
