I live in the city of Manila. And all i can say is that this place is notorious
for lack of parking spaces and more recently towing firms, stupids traffic enforcers, kotong cops in bikes and stainless jeeps with no plate and also
parking boys who charge php 30 parking fees even when you are in your vehicle waiting for someone.

Most of the time we have only ourselves to blame for lack of knowledge of the
law on parking. so do download this small page from the LTO handbook
and slap it in the face of any stupid enforcer before he tells you that
    you are illegally parked.

I have seen many instances wherein a stupid cop would approach a driver
in a vehicle and ask for the license due to illegal parking. The poor driver would hand over his license without any protest even if he is still in his car with the engine running. More stupid is when parking boys would collect
parking fees from drivers also in the same situation. In most cases the victims are family or truck drivers who are not well informed or easily harrassed by these bad elements. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse as they say.

A driver should know both 1) to operate (to include pre-starting procedure) and move the vehicle and 2) the basic traffic rules and regulation both for moving and non-moving violations. Marami kasi ngayon ang alam lang how to operate the vehicle but lack wisdom and knowledge sa traffic rules.

Whether you are still in the car but the area that your car is occupying is a no parking or stoping or unloading zone dapat lang na ma cite for violation.

Yun definition ng parking or parked is the same in all laws and traffic codes.
We are speaking of the meaning of parking. Just like eating, same naman
and definition ito maski saan. The difference like only kung saan and what
circumstances lang like saan pwede at saan bawal.

just recently learned, meron palang counter-flow parking, wherein you park on the other side of the road facing the flow of traffic. bawal pala ito.

No parking zone nga, diba?

Pag-alis nila maglalabasan na yung matatandang lalake at babae galing sa squatter's area sa may creek and they would act as collectors for the parking slots. I just give them P20 minsan para di gasgasin kotse ko.
