Heads up lang po, baka may magoyo. Filled up 500 worth of Caltex Silver in Caltex Shaw cor. Pioneer St. this Thursday.

Experience: gas boy filled it up like the usual, informed me that it's silver, and that the meter's on zero already. So, filling starts. After I heard the tick, gas boy went beside my door and I gave a 1000 bill. He then asked me, "Sir, baka gusto niyo pong dagdagan karga niyo ng 300? 200 lang po kasi panukli ko." Given that the price ain't as cheap compared to where I usually fill my tank up, I politely said no.

Lo and behold, I was surprised that the guy clicked the gas filler again and started pumping up fuel on my car. Initially I said to myself, "loko 'to ah, sinabi ng huwag na eh." Then when it ticked, I then glanced at the meter and it says 300. So I said, sige tignan ko na lang sa resibo at pag lampas 500 nga kinarga eh saka ako magrereklamo.

So when the guy went to the cashier and returned, I promptly checked the receipt. Lumabas dalawang beses akong kinargahan. Isang 200 (initial one) and isang 300 (second one). For once, kabisado ko kung hanggang saan tataas ang fuel gauge ko after filling up 500, so I pretty much have to say that the guy has the nerves.

Thanks for the heads up sir, tama ka nga kasi sometimes pag nagmamadali tayo eh di na natin tinitingnan ang resibo, malay nga natin kng kulang ang kinarga o indi, i have to make it a habit to always check the receipt and yung naka display sa meter sa gas station.

When I gas up I usually go down from the car and stand at the side and check the gas boys siguro to prevent such incidents like what sir BR14 has experienced.

Damn, that's one to watch out for, heads up peeps!

When filling up, sometimes I point my cellphone to the side mirror pretending to record them and make sure I make them see that I'm doing so, just to make them feel that I'm watching them.

I always get off the car, open the fuel lid, take off the fuel cap and monitor the filling process... Medyo nasanay sa self-service stations.....

thanks for the heads up sir!

Good thing they allowed you to do that... one time I was jotting down my vehicle's odometer reading using my samsung omnia (so I can compute for my gas consumption) -- the gasoline boy approached me and asked me to turn off my cellphone and pointed to the sign above the machine saying to please turn off all cellphones...

Heh. TealAuto (Palm software for my Treo) takes care of that. When the gas boy sees me recording data while they're filling up my gas tank, they won't even think of conning me.

thanks for the heads up but damn, some of you guys are way too paranoid/defensive.

pointing your cell pretending to record? computing data (which i assume is all about gassing up)?

Maybe you should re-read the first post to establish why some people take measures to counter these modus'.

    Paranoid, no.

Defensive, maybe, but it's better to be defensive than to be ignorant and become prone to being the next victim.

I understand that - but I think getting out of your car and just watch the gas boy would be sufficient.

but hey, to each his own right?

    peace.

Defensive??? Nowadays, there are too many untrustworthy people!

But I do monitor my cars' FE so I record all my fill-ups.

I wanna know what my average fuel consumption is. What's paranoid about that? Now I know that my vehicle's not fuel-efficient. It consumes 5-6 liters of gasoline per kilometer. A friend computed that his Picanto consumed 21 liters per kilometer, now that's fuel-efficiency.

Please don't call people paranoid just because you don't understand the reason for their action.

    bumababa ako noon pa.

    mga rason:

baka gasolina ilagay - malaking problema at abala diba?
