Good thing they allowed you to do that... one time I was jotting down my vehicle's odometer reading using my samsung omnia (so I can compute for my gas consumption) -- the gasoline boy approached me and asked me to turn off my cellphone and pointed to the sign above the machine saying to please turn off all cellphones...

Heh. TealAuto (Palm software for my Treo) takes care of that. When the gas boy sees me recording data while they're filling up my gas tank, they won't even think of conning me.

thanks for the heads up but damn, some of you guys are way too paranoid/defensive.

pointing your cell pretending to record? computing data (which i assume is all about gassing up)?

Maybe you should re-read the first post to establish why some people take measures to counter these modus'.

    Paranoid, no.

Defensive, maybe, but it's better to be defensive than to be ignorant and become prone to being the next victim.

I understand that - but I think getting out of your car and just watch the gas boy would be sufficient.

but hey, to each his own right?

    peace.

Defensive??? Nowadays, there are too many untrustworthy people!

But I do monitor my cars' FE so I record all my fill-ups.

I wanna know what my average fuel consumption is. What's paranoid about that? Now I know that my vehicle's not fuel-efficient. It consumes 5-6 liters of gasoline per kilometer. A friend computed that his Picanto consumed 21 liters per kilometer, now that's fuel-efficiency.

Please don't call people paranoid just because you don't understand the reason for their action.

    bumababa ako noon pa.

    mga rason:

baka gasolina ilagay - malaking problema at abala diba?
