ang alam ko.. open window ever so slightly.. just enough to talk to the officer, check the id of the officer... remember the name and the police unit's number (kung nakamobile)... keep doors locked. when asked for the license.. you can give it to them... pag medyo nagaalanganin.. naghahanap ng lagay...just tell them politely.. bossing.. pakigawa na lang po ng ticket.. para wala na tayong abala.. the officer is to issue you a ticket... kung alam mong wala kang kasalanan.. sabihin mo sa officer that the traffic violation is under contest/protest. the card license can be taken.. pero yung PAPEL na lisensya mo.. wag na wag mong ibibigay... the TVR will act as your temporary license until redemption...

The police cannot forcibly search your car.. they can only look at what is in plain view... if they ask you to open your car/trunk. you have the right to say no. Otherwise.. go down with them when they do the search of your trunk.. but lock the doors when you leave the inside of the car.. para nde sila makapaglagay dun.

tama yung opening the window enough for clear conversation...pwede kasing magplant ng illegal ek-ek yung mga pulis..

tama rin ito except giving your license to the cop...ipakita niyo and ilapat sa window yung license...all they need is the basic information naman...name,address,etcetc...also, hindi dapat iconfiscate license...thats the law...confiscation of a driver's license can only be done by an official of the LTO..not mmda or tmg...sadly, drivers and nanghuhuli alike(pati ako a few days ago) hindi alam ito...2 cents ko lang pow

caloyski5, confirm ko lang, hindi talaga ibinibigay ang license sa police/mmda, kung nahuli? you mean license na even the ID and/or the OR of the license? ang practice kasi, di ba ibinibigay sa nanghuli? hindi kaya lalong magkaroon ng argument kung hindi ibibigay ang license? friend ko nahuli ng mmda, 'yong license niya kinuha niya sa may office na mmda sa mandaluyong yata 'yon.

    beep beep!

Below are the guidlines regarding the official procedures and proper conduct for all MMDA traffic enforcers:

    1. Instruct the driver to pull over to a safe part of the road

    2. Inform driver not alight from the vehicle

    3. The traffic officer IS REQUIRED TO INDENTIFY HIM/ HER SELF

    4. The traffic officer is required to politely inform the driver of the violation commited in clear and understandable language without vulgarity or condescending words

    5. The officer is required to fill out the TVR in less than 3 minutes near the hood or beside the driver within hearing distance of the passengers and full view of passing motorists

    6. Officer is required to request driver to sign the TVR

    7. If driver refuses to sign, the traffic officer is required to inform the driver that he/she can contest the violation at the MMDA adjudication board

    8. If driver refuses to surrender his/her drivers license, the traffic officer is required to fill out the TVR with the following information:

    - plate number
    - type of vehicle
    - place, time and date of apprehension

    9. The traffic officer is required to furnish driver with the original copy of the TVR with the following instructions:

    -Where to redeem the TVR
    -when to redeen the TVR

---mas okay kung gawa kayo ng hard copy then keep it inside your car..at kung may gagong nanghuli sa inyo..pamukha niyo to sa kanila..saka hindi rin pwede hawakan ng apprehending officer and kahit anong parte ng sasakyan..SOP nila un.

also, get a list of traffic violations available at the LTO website: http://www.lto.gov.ph

    kotong opening lines?
saan ka galing, saan ka pupunta?
some police are smart to ask psychological questions.
or maybe gusto lang nilang malaman kung super layo ka sa location ng "seminar" - which is part ng penalty mo, which will lead to...alam nyo na, kotong.

My opinion is to always stay calm. Look them in the eye and act assertively. You can always make up a story where you're heading. Try to be courteous as possible. Having said that, I too had a bad experience many years back. I was stopped at a checkpoint at D. Tuazon, around 12 police officers. Opening the windows and dome lights giving them access to look at the interior (glove compartment etc.) emptying our pockets. Not satisfied w/ the ocular inspection, one of the police asked me and my companion to go down. Thats when I raised my voice in protest, telling them its not sop as long as I'm not under arrest. The stupid cop got mad and started bickering w/ me. I didnt give in because I knew it would be a bad move. Then, a higher ranking police approached and told the other cop to let me go instead. Untill now, I still dont know if I was being brave or reckless.

sipag talaga ni sir ben mag open ng new threads ah.

ako whenever mapara, ill ask lang yung violation.
kung meron talaga, ill ask if pwede muna palampasin.
pero before i sign ung tvr, i check and double check yung mga nakasulat.
pag mali mali, eh ibang usapan na yan.
    kelangan na tumawag ng contacts.
    abuso kasi yung ibang nanghuhuli.
kala lahat ng hinuhuli nila bobo.
    ginagawang multiple choice yung tvr.
check all of the above ang nangyayari.
    hehehe.
