last friday afternoon, 2 disgusted foreigner went to our office (travel agency) in roxas blvd. they want to know how much should they pay for a calesa ride because the kutsero was charging them USD30.00/each. i asked her if they agreed on a certain price and the kustero told them '30' (not specifying what currency and if its the price for both of them) well we all know that our currency is in peso, why charge in US currency? charging $60 for a calesa ride is wayy too much. i called up the DOT's tourist police for assistance, and suprisingly arrived promptly. they settled at P250. i don't know if the kutsero was arrested but he should have been.

tourism means more jobs, more food on the plate for the average juan but taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists? grabe. this incident will really make tourists say "wow philippines!" with sarcasm. nakakahiya!

walang hiyang kutsero na yon! dapat i ban o confiscahin nila ung kabayo nya para di na makapag loko. obvious na ripped off na yung ginagawa, biruin mo sisingilin ng $60 bucks ung dalawang tourist. p*tang inang kutsero na yun, kung akong siningil nyang ganoon kalaking pera talagang irereklamo ko sya sa pulis.baka pinagmumura ko pa sya.(round trip fare na yan to hong kong & back to PI) sasabihin nya trenta bawat isa;anong akala nya, nasa tate sya?. syempre ang alam nung foreingner ay pesos, di dolyares dahil currency natin ay pesos di dolyares. (kahit di ba naman nagka intindihan, sinong tangang magbabayad ng dolyares sa ulol na kutsero na yon)nasa pilipinas sya, tapos sisingilin nya ng dolyares ung mga turista. kaya mga tourist sa atin nadi-dismaya sila sa mga ogag na mga pilipino sa tin. mga taxi, calesa, pedicabs karamihan mga manloloko ang mga ito.(it doesn't matter if they are trying to make a living, pero panloloko na ung ginagawa)

there is difference between making a decent living, and cheating.

Actually, mautak yung kutsero...technically, from what was posted, there is no viable case. Dapat those tourists should have clarified matters from the start.

Although what he's doing is giving the local tourism industry a bad name. Pakainin na lang yung kutsero ng damo!
