With the current Paniqui exit, TPLEX removes around 30 minutes from your old travel time. May bayad na.
Mga tiga-maynila naman usually yung mga kups mag maneho sa highway it seems and hindi alam ang "motoring etiquette" on a mountain road or two-laner.
As for me, if someone passes, i maintain my lower speed or slow down if need be, and give space for them safely pass and enter. Last edited by vinj; January 30th, 2014 at 09:25 AM.

last time na trinay ko tarlac to pura, a little over 5 mins lang. i think nasa 80kmh takbo that time, eh yung scenery ang pinapanood ko. nlex to tarlac city via sctex is 30 mins.

All in all ok naman naging trip and vacation namin. And pagkatapos nun hindi na namin sila inovertake-an. Since halos nasa paanan na sila naka-overtake sa van 😄
And opo, pasensya na po if more than 100kph speed ko sa tplex.

ganoon siguro kapag baguhan lang sa pagmamaneho at nasabak sa provincial trip like manila to baguio and back.
overtake ng overtake like there's no tomorrow. i remember 9 years ago when i had my chance to drive my uncle's nissan serena going to baguio. this was also my first time going out of town. kasama ko that time is my soon to be wife and her younger brother and sister. overtake din ako ng overtake that time without giving courtesy to other motorist whether alangin or bitin but that was 9 years ago. ngayon with our 7 year old daughter and a baby boy coming this march eh pinauuna ko na silang lahat, bahala na kayong mauna. oovertake na lang ako kapag talagang kinakailangan.

If you are the one overtaking, dim the headlamp until you pass the driver sidemirror of the other vehicle..
One advantage of night driving is that you can overtake on blind curves or eat the other lane safely by just turning off momentarily your headlamp.(not a recommended driving style for all but very effective).
Flashing once means the driver is checking if the oncoming vehicle forgot to dim the lights, or could be signalling that he wants to claim your right of way.. If the opposing vehicle already claimed your right of way, you have the last clear chance to safely maneuver your vehicle by:
- decelerating to give much distance and give the other vehicle time to do his thing
- use the shoulder to avoid collision
- make full stop if necessary
PS: most newbie drivers driving provincial 2-way roads don't know that its very dangerous overtaking on bridges.. Having no shoulder lane on most bridges makes less option for last clear chance.. The reason also why 2-way bridges have double solid yellow lanes..Last edited by 12vdc; February 4th, 2014 at 08:39 AM.
