    My First Ticket

This happen Saturday around 12:30AM, I was driving along Chino Roces when I turned left to Vito Cruz and I parked in front of 7-11 to buy something. As I parked I notice 2 MAPSA issuing tickets to a Honda City and a motorcycle. I saw one MAPSA across the street telling me something, I turned off my radio and said, "Po?" He came to me and told me “Sir no left turn po tayo pero kumaliwa kayo” I told him, “Ah talaga, ilang beses na kasi ako kumakaliwa diyan wala naman nanghuli sakin saan ba nakalagay?” He then said, “Dun po sir oh. Lisensya nalang po.” I gave him my license and he went to his patrol car and took his booklet. While writing, I told him, “Boss na sulat mo na ba?” he replied, “Bakit?” I said, “Gusto ko lang makita yung No Left Turn sign kasi madalas ako kumakalaiwa dito, hapon or gabi hindi naman ako hinuhuli.” Then he walked me to the No Left Turn Sign. As soon as I saw the No Left Turn sign I told him, “Eh boss, bakit naman kasi diyan nakalagay yung No Left Turn, eh talagang hindi makikita ng mga driver yan, kasi kakaliwa sila sa incoming traffic, malamang nakatingin sila dun sa incoming traffic hindi sa kakaliwaan nila, tapos pag kaliwa nila makikita nila na No Left Turn pala eh naka kaliwa na sila. Mas prone sa accident yun” He told me, “Hindi na po kasi naming hawak yan, City Engineers na po ang nag lagay diyan, pinag aralan nila yan.” Then another MAPSA came to us and I explained my concern. He told me the same reason that the City Engineers put the sign after a careful study.

I told them, “Kasi boss, itong auto ko, red plate po ito, though for dropping na po (may "For Dropping" sign sa likod ng auto ko), kaya medyo maingat po ako mag maneho, dahil pag nahuli ako, baka mas lalo pa mabigat ang parusa sakin, kaya I make sure I follow all the rules.” Then the MAPSA who is issuing my ticket said, “Nako sir, red plate pala kayo, bakit hindi niyo sinabi para nagusap nalang tayo.” He called the third MAPSA and asked, “Pare ano gagawin ko dito, red plate pala si boss eh nasulat ko na pangalan niya?” He said, “Kaya nga ako nag tataka sayo bakit mo tiniketan si sir, eh pula plaka niya, hindi lang ako makalapit sayo kasi may tinitiketan din ako. Hindi mo ba nakita?” Then he said, “Eh hindi ko naman alam eh, hindi ko nakita plaka ni sir kasi huminto si sir hindi ko na nakita, nasulat ko na pre eh, ano ba pwede gawin dito?” The third MAPSA said, “Tiketan mo nalang ng pinaka mababa, No Seatbelt 250 lang yun boss.” I told them, “Actually hindi ko concern yung ticket, ang concern ko lang kasi hindi visible sa driver yung sign, pag kumaliwa na dun makikita pero it’s too late na.” The third MAPSA said, “City engineer kasi naglagay diya eh hindi po kami." "Ganito nalang gawin mo, ticketan mo si sir nung pinaka mababa tapos sir bayaran niyo nalang po siya ng 250 tapos siya na mag babayad sa City Hall.” The MAPSA told him, “Nako baka ako naman malagot nun.” I said, “Tiketan mo nalang ako kung ano violation ko para ma contest ko rin itong traffic sign.”

Then they asked me, “Boss ano bang agency nung kotse?” I said, “DILG” then they said, “Nako lagot ka DILG pa yari ka” Then I said, “Wag ka mag alala, walang problema, ticketan niyo na ako para ma contest ko na rin, hindi ko rin naman kayo i-dadamay eh, You’re just doing your job.” They told me, “Boss pakita mo nalang itong ticket na ito, then sabihin mo Red Plate ka tapos DILG ka siguro naman mapapakiusapan ito, pasensya na talga boss.”
After they issued me my ticket, I went to the 7-11 I overheard them, “Yari ka pre, pero mukang mabait naman si sir eh.” “Tingin mo mayayari ka kaya DILG yun eh?” Then after 1 min. they left their post.

and i think the double solid yellow lines in the middle mean something...

addendum: straight arrow lang pala meron.

Left turn sign should be positioned at the Shell/Shakey's view. I did not even see the No left turn sign.

isa pa kasi nakakalito sir, pwede daw mag left sa shakey's street pero sa vito cruz hindi daw. The thing is either way you'll cross the incoming traffic so bakit sa shakey's pwede pumasok sa vito cruz hindi.
